Mike Pence, GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump’s running mate, told the news media at a press conference Thursday that he no longer wants to be called a vice presidential candidate.

The Indiana governor, an evangelical Christian, explained that he opposes the word “vice” on religious grounds. Pence said that the Bible has strict prohibitions against vice. He said the word “vice” means, among other things, “immoral” or “wicked behavior.”

“That’s not who I am, and that’s not who I want people to think I am,” he said. “I can’t in good faith willingly condone a word I find deplorable without violating my Christian principles.”

This is an obvious attempted hit at Pence, but it's such a blatant and disgusting lie, I don't even know where to being here. I'm hoping the Trump campaign will see this and maybe even tweet a response.

Be forewarned - if you have any liberal "friends" on Disgracebook, they are probably falling for this balderdash! We can't let 'em get away with it !!!

Also note that no place in the article does it label it as satire and I noticed that DU took it down from their threads...

I also cannot find any references to this anyplace else on the Internet. I would think a statement like this would be everywhere. Even in the HuffPo comments, you'll see a lot of people doubting it.

This reminds me of a Beverly Hillbillies episode when Mr. Drysdale was going to make Jethro Vice-President of some division in the bank to keep him out of trouble.

The punch line came when Granny refused to allow it, after she found out what “VICE” meant. I think the line was:

Granny: “I found out what “Vice” means, and you ain’t having anything to do with such goings on!”
