Presidential campaigns square off over U.S. military superiority

As Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton and GOP nominee Donald Trump square off for their first debate of the election season, one question the candidates will tackle is the state of the American military.

The Clinton camp has touted America’s military prowess as the best in the world, while the Trump campaign has claimed that the Obama White House has decimated U.S. forces, allowing for the rise of near-peer states such as Russia and China.

Top military officials and analysts, however, say the answer lies somewhere in the middle, saying the U.S. military maintains its world superiority but proposed cuts under sequestration could undermine that status across the globe.

I’ll have to admit I don’t trust some of our military leaders these days. The ones in Obama’s camp can’t be trusted any farther than we can drop kick them.

I don’t think there’s any question our armed forces have been severely impacted by the Traitor in Chief.

I agree. I don’t see where military officials connected with the failed Obama administration, officials seemingly preoccupied with promoting the LGBTQ agenda in the military, would be objective about the need for military strength.

Exactly. Pacifists one and all.

Obama picked his military appointments like he chose his SCOTUS appointments.

They weren’t on our team, that’s for sure.

I would think that Trump would call back many of the Admirals, Generals and Colonels POSObama purged out.

I would sincerely hope so.

We also need to expand our Navy and knock off this downsizing routine that seems nonstop.

Agreed. I won’t say a 600 ship navy... but a 450... 475 helps with rotation, morale, and just having shipmates as a show of force.

How many homosexual or transgender battalions do the Russians and Red Chinese have? How many pregnant women on their aircraft carriers and submarines? Are there females in Spetsnaz? How many daycares are there at Russian and Chinese bases?
