Funny how you can turn a story about an atheist leading a Protestant congregation (no Catholics in sight) into an occasion to bash Catholics.

The problem you need to face is that this isn't the first time Protestantism has gone down this trajectory. The Unitarians were originally Massachusetts Puritan Calvinists. Look it up. What happened? Similarly, Calvinism in its original European homes (Scotland and the Netherlands) is moribund. What happened?

If the best you can do is to try to deflect the blame on Rome, you're just fooling yourself. Something is rotten in the state of Denmark, and it isn't the Catholics' fault.

There are so many things wrong about this ‘preacher’ and the church that wants her removed.

Bigger audience and more money perhaps.

That's the thing, this objectively irrational practice may lead to more money, but I don't know. I do know it leads to smaller congregations, a smaller audience. Swiftly. The aim is defiance, rebellion against the Living God.

People are not drawn to cross the street to attend when they can already buy the same hamburger on this side of the street.

If Satan can lead a church, then an Atheist can as well. I suspect there are non-believers leading Church, but are lying to own churches about whether or not they believe.

Is not a minister or priest one who is a disciple of our Lord Christ, Jesus? Was there not amongst his most loyal followers, doubting Thomas and Judas Iscariot? And Peter, who denied that he knew Jesus, his Lord and friend three times out of fear. I’ve heard a minister say, while preaching, “at times he has questioned his own belief in God” and my reply to myself was “Have faith.” Afterall to not believe is akin to being a rudderless ship that is out of control upon the sea of life. It can end up anywhere.

First, I don’t see why you called this church “hardcore Calvinistic”. I see nothing that indicates that in the least. “Protestant” perhaps, but not “hardcore Calvinistic”.

Second, it is not the ideas of the Reformation that directly leads to the downfall of these denominations. It is the abandoning of Biblical teachings to follow the traditions of men that leads to this outcome.

“They must themselves admit, whether they like it or not, that the church of Christ neither lies nor deceives... Therefore the holy church cannot and may not lie or suffer false doctrine, but must teach nothing except what is holy and true, that is, God’s word alone; and where it teaches a lie it is idolatrous and the whore-church of the devil” – Martin Luther (LW 41:214).

“Can an atheist lead a Protestant church?”

So they CAN lead a Catholic church? /s

A woman, if that is what she is, can’t preach from the pulpit. She can’t be the leader of a church, atheist or not.

“...... I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she must be silent” (1 Timothy 2:11-12).

For a long time now people have been presented with ideas like a “church” is a building, that “religion” a ceremony, and “faith” a mere social/cultural allegiance.

There is of course variations in this spiritual attack, as some identify first (church) as the last (social/cultural allegiance) or what have you.

These substitutions for the Body of Christ trend world-safe and salt-and-light-less. By the time you get a chick like this woman thinking she has a place doing more than warming a pew it should be a given that “Elvis has left the building”, so to speak.

And actually it would probably be better for people to pointlessly worship Elvis than to openly mock The Lord with their assemblies.

Romans 1 speaks about those with reprobate minds. It isn’t those who don’t know much about Him that are in danger but those who refuse to retain knowledge of Him. These are those who have been awash in the knowledge of how the could be saved but refuse to accept that knowledge.

That has to be one of the most idiotic titles I’ve ever read for an article. Why not a Muslim or a Jew leading a Christian service? Better yet can a Christian pastor lead a Hindu service?

People having such “debates” are no longer Christian no matter what they say they profess.

What a time we live in (Ephesians 6:11-13):

…11Put on the full armor of God, so that you can make your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this world's darkness, and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13Therefore take up the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you will be able to stand your ground, and having done everything, to stand.

The evil seems to have infiltrated even the Church. How can such confusion be checked. Well, see above.

All for Social Justice I administer
All for it I freely take
If you’ve got more than your brother
I’m right there to judge and hate

I will take it all
I will take it all
All that’s yours for my do-gooding
I will take it all

Satan is attacking Christianity because obviously, he’s opposed to Christ.

But Satan is not opposed to Islam, that’s his baby just as much as homosexuality is.

You must mean like some of the Hindu practices in Catholic services. Of course there are some Catholics who consider themselves Buddhists. Why some Popes been know to kiss the Koran. I don't believe this type of nonsense is ONLY related to Protestants.

Yep.

America has abandoned God. I hope God hasn’t abandoned America - here are still a hell of a lot of good people left here. Ten good men would have spared Sodom and Gomorrah and I think we are far more than that. Right now, its close to 50:50.
