One gun's journey — 42 bullets fired, 2 killed, 5 wounded (barf alert)
Chicago Tribune ^ | 09 oct 2016 | Annie Sweeney

The young woman arrived home to find a footprint still visible on her front door.

Her South Shore apartment had been broken into, and the small safe she kept under her bed was missing, along with the black .40-caliber Glock handgun she kept inside.

Over the next year, that Glock would fire 42 bullets, leaving shell casings scattered on walkways, porches and side streets. In the hands of a street gang, the gun was used in at least five separate shootings that left two dead and five others wounded, police say.

Officers found the weapon — loaded with 21 rounds and hidden in a Nike shoebox — during a routine check in 2015 at a parolee's South Side home, just blocks from where it had been stolen. An extended magazine had been added for firepower and a laser sight for accuracy.

The inanimate object is the culprit not the guy behind it, typical idiots with their agenda printed on their forehead

Gun laws do not work especially in Chicago so attack the innocent.

These snowflake journalists watched too much Disney in their formative years. They seem to live with the illusion of talking teapots, mice, and cars.

The gun took a journey?

The gun was stolen, and used by a parolee. He fired the 42 bullets.

Only 42 rounds fired in 5 separate shootings? “Cases scattered everywhere”? That’s only about 8 rounds per shootout with no practice in between. Yet someone still added a laser sight, without zeroing it? And still killed two people?

Lots of unanswered questions. Something smells fishy.

That Glock is amazing! Not only does it shoot, but it is highly motile, and it exhibits some degree of AI. The engineers at Glock are way ahead of NASA.

Glocks seem to go crazy on one side of town and not the other. It’s so hard to understand.

Reminds me of the old TV show QUINCY M.E. from the 1970s. A gun escapes (is stolen) from a home, kills and kills. Dr Quincy declares..””WE’VE GOT TO STOP ‘IT’ BEFORE ‘IT’ KILLS AGAIN!”

Almost as bad as THE STREETS OF SAN FRANCISCO in which a .25 pistol is bought, escapes (stolen) kills and kills till captured and melted down into a sewer cover.

They really thought such nonsense would sway a TV audience to call for a total ban on handguns back then!

Hmmm. One out of, what, 300+million guns in the hands of private citizens. Stupid gun should have known better. Oh, duh. Inanimate object.

Yes, it was the evil gun that left shell casings scattered all over Chicago, not the criminal that broke into a home and stole it.

Guess the author doesn’t realize she just debunked two liberal themes. Gun show loopholes and shorter prison sentences.

Disarm all law abiding citizens placing everyone at the mercy of the evil-doers ... or kill/damage/incarcerate the single evil-doer responsible for firing 42 bullets, killing two, and damaging five others. The answer is so plainly obvious, I cannot fathom how dense liberals must be not to see it. It's true, I guess, that you can't fix stupid ... but you can ignore it, and shove it aside when it gets in your way.

The same anti-gun liberals want the parolee (felon) to still vote.

Here's the journey of another gun. You can watch it live:

This is the “progressive” logic.

Criminals steal a gun and commit nasty crimes.

Therefore, disarm all law abiding Americans so that it will be harder for criminals to steal guns.

Right.

It has not worked in the rest of the world.

Why would they think it would work here?

Hmmm. Seems to me the draconian gun laws that prevented this lady from keeping the Glock with her and on her person at all times ensured it was at her house just waiting to be stolen.

Didn’t know a Glock could load, cock and fire on its own.

So let's pass more background checks. Oh, wait ...

Let's make people register guns. Oh, wait ...

Let's outlaw assault weapons. Oh, wait ...

It was the high-capacity magazine! Oh, wait ...

How about a waiting period? No? Yeah, I guess not ...

How would any of the liberal "solutions" solve this problem? But of course, the answer to any lib when their programs inevitably fail, is to do more of the same.
