I will now donate to Trump. Sorry I have been so slow but after the last two Presidential Candidates for the Republicans, I had vowed never to donate to one of them again. Trump is the exception to that vow.
I want Ryan out.
Didn’t MO Republican nominate a really weak gubernatorial candidate this cycle?
The Speaker would be chosen some seventeen days before the inauguration of the President.
In the works for a while, Donald Trump's ascendancy has brought to a head feelings of incompatibility and inadequacy between the Republican elites (anyone who has anything to do with the party in even a semi-official capacity) and the Republican rank and file (the little people).
The result is a seismic fracture that encompasses the entire land. Because of this, and the coincidental rupture of the body politic which has also been a long time in the making, we are witnessing something historical, namely, the death of a political party.
No matter how you slice it, the Republican party is dead. It's just that most republicans don't realize it yet.
For that matter, the Democrat party suffers a from a similar malady. That party bears no resemblance to the party of JFK, Hubert Humphrey or Scoop Jackson. In this party there are no longer anticommunist Cold Warriors. Every move to the left is now a lurch, oft times unattractive, always dire in terms of policy. What held in the past seems now to remain there, totally devoid of any influence on the present or the future.
Clearly, what your father knew as the Democrat party in now in fact a wholly owned subsidiary of the CPUSA.
The political landscape has changed, and continues to change, but not necessarily for good, or for the better.
Regardless, Donald Trump's takeover of the remnants of Republicanism means that what we once knew as America is slipping from the grasp of the people, and his election, while not guaranteeing the end result to “Make America Great Again”, is the last gasp, the last chance, for this most substantial bloc to reclaim what it feels is it's birthright.
If Trump loses, fair or foul, the great experiment in self-government is threatened with extinction, and with it, the passage to what will undoubtedly be anarchy and civil war.
CA....
So weak that I will not vote for him. Missouri Republican Party controls both houses in the state legislature. The party controls 7 of the 9 house seats and one senate seat. It has problems unifying behind state wide candidates. I think leadership at the state level is a problem .
I do not trust unnamed sources.
GO TRUMP/PENCE!!!
PS: I donated to Trump yesterday and he did so well last night I sent another donation this morning - nothing says you back someone than actually backing him....
Agreed, the anger at the elites is deep. They promise us action to get elected (reelected) then don't deliver. I live in Dave Brat's district. Have they forgotten so soon what happened to Cantor?
Depending on how it all shakes out on 11/08, I would like to see a revitalization of the GOP from the top down, to mirror the changes that have happened this year at the grass roots level
"Donald Trump, who has made the Republican Party members lives a living and breathing hells for the past year-and-a-half, turned it up to 11
And all of those people who jumped ship were looking at their TV last night and about halfway through the debate were saying, Oh shoot.
This is the political reality, that for the Republican base, Donald Trump delivered the political attack against the Clinton machine that the Republican base and middle America have been waiting for for years now
"
Too bad Ryan won’t fall on his own sword now and spare us from his betrayal of the US for big money.
