Unbeknownst to the author of this stupidity is that pumpkins are actually food, and are eaten with regularity in many countries (i.e. cultures).
I choose to not decorate pumpkins but to actually throw them in the oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for an hour or so and then cool to room temperature separate the now outer shell from the meat and extract the seeds and use the flesh of the pumpkin for all kinds of dishes such as chili, veggie hashes, pie, general filler etc... Pumpkins are a very good food source which sustains millions globally.

What most of us think of as “pumpkin” is actually the traditional pie spices, and it’s really easy (and cheap) to overdo the spices or get them out of balance. I have made “pumpkin” pie out of carrots and people could not tell the difference.
