Extraordinary Ordinaries: Bikers Against Child Abuse

TARPON SPRINGS (FOX 13) - It’s not hard to mistake a biker. They usually are dressed in leather from head to toe.

With the fighting, brawling and law-breaking by some, a lot of bikers are believed to be bad.

"You can tell there is an intimidation factor because they look at bikers in a different way. They've been raised to believe that bikers are all bad. We get comments; we get dirty looks; we've watched people walk out when we walk in." Loony told FOX 13 News.

Loony is the Bay Bridges chapter president of B.A.C.A., Bikers Against Child Abuse. Their mission is to empower children to not live in fear.

"They should be able to grow up like every other normal child and enjoy life and do the things that kids do,” said Loony. “[They should] not have to worry about having to testify, not worry about going to court, worrying about ‘is this person going to hurt me again’. It's sad that we have to exist, but that’s why we exist."

and they are the guys who work higher up on the chain of lowlifes who sell drugs to your kids. Nice to know they are against child abuse.

Your generalizations are often entertaining.

Today’s bikers are not exactly the Hell’s Angels of yore.

I can’t think of anything good to say about bikers, especially those who dress like bikers and travel in flocks.

Little Angels is a well run pediatric nursing home. The Harley run has been going on for years.

They must be starting a Chapter here in Phoenix... I was behind 2 bikes yesterday at a stop light that riders had cuts on with these same initials. I never heard of them before, but thought cool... One was a nice Harley, the other crotch rocket type bike.

Just like those who don't ride, bikers come in all flavors. The ones I know - many Vietnam vets - are salt of the earth.

Wow. Bigoted much? Recommended apparel for folks who ride motorcycles from the Texas DMV is leathers and such, because anything less will have you losing considerable amounts of skin from road rash if you go down. Since I occasionally ride with the Patriot Guard, most of the bikers I know are veterans, and some of the most big-hearted guys you'll ever meet. They donate their own time, money and effort to support fallen vets, be they active duty or retired. The families of those who have passed surely appreciate the support, especially as that support is freely given by folks who are complete strangers, who nonetheless care about them in their time of need.

The folks in this article are doing what they can to protect kids from child abuse, yet you and others on this thread reflexively trash them. What do you do with your spare time to help those less fortunate than yourself?
