Iraqs parliament on Saturday voted to ban the sale, import and production of alcohol, in a surprise move likely to anger some minorities but also to please influential religious parties.
Proponents of the ban argue that it is justified by the constitution, which prohibits any law contradicting Islam.
But some opponents argue that it also violates the same constitution which guarantees the traditions of religious minorities.

Whelp...that’s it! Canceling my vacay to Iran!
Well, on the one hand, the alcohol ban is in Iraq. Not Iran. So you’re good there.
But on the other hand they will probably kidnap you for ransom as soon as you touch down in Iran. So that may spoil the festivities a touch. Probably best to avoid the entire area entirely.
Oh, that’ll piss the ragheads off—no booze for you sanctimonious cheaters on your supposedly ‘dry’ religion! Ha, ha! Also, up theirs...with an empty booze bottle!
What a laugh! This is going to be interesting.
But some opponents argue that it also violates the same constitution which guarantees the traditions of religious minorities.
What a screwed up constitution.
Oh damn! lol...Alright, new prescription for the glasses Monday! I can’t take any more embarrassment!

What difference does it make for muslims, who smoke drugs for entertainment anyway?
Muslims and Progressives are prohibitionists.
Not when it comes to drugs. Where would you get all your best drugs if muslims didnt grow them?
“Some minorities” = Christians
There are still many Jews living in Iran today.
It’s time for you all to finally get out and go to Israel, because they are going to use this law against you.
Yes when it comes to drugs. Name a mohammedan country with legal cannabis.
But the Opium Poppy is the staple of Afghan economy.....that and boy prostitution.
Possession, sale, transport or use of cannabis illegal in Afghanistan and other mohammedan countries =>

So Afghanistan has cannabis prohibition and boy prostitution.
And legal production (on a huge scale) of drugs for sale to infidel nations.
It is not legal =>
