We need to rid ourselves of the electoral vote system and leave the future of American to “We, The People”. If that were the case, this election would already have been decided simply by judging the size of the Trump crowds at his rallies. I will be watching these two rallies.

Someone on FR did a breakdown on this a few years back with maps that showed exactly what would happen if we just counted the popular vote.
It wasn’t pretty.

I disagree about not having the electoral system. I would like to look at the possibility (and any implications) of it being changed from awarding electoral votes by state to awarding the electoral votes by county or area.
As an example, the entire eastern part of WA State is red, while west of the Cascade mountains is primarily blue (Seattle metro area - large population centers). There are other states with similar breakdowns of red/blue. IIRC IL is one of them - Cook county vs other parts of the state.
