A federal jury on Thursday found Ammon Bundy, his brother Ryan Bundy and five co-defendants not guilty.......

"More than we could have hoped for," said one of Ammon Bundy's lawyers, J. Morgan Philpot......

Ammon Bundy, his hands clasped behind his back, nodded as the "not guilty" verdicts were read for him first. As he sat, he smiled and rubbed the shoulder of his lawyer, Marcus Mumford.

His older brother Ryan Bundy stood. As the "not guilty" verdicts were read, he nodded, and mouthed to the jury, "Thank you." Defendant Neil Wampler hugged and kissed his defense lawyer, Maxfield.

The coda to the stunning verdict, undoubtedly a significant blow to federal prosecutors, was when Ammon Bundy's lawyer Marcus Mumford argued that his client, dressed in a gray suit and white dress shirt, should be allowed to walk out of court, a free man.

U.S. District Judge Anna J. Brown told him there was a U.S. Marshal's hold on him from a pending federal indictment in Nevada.

"If there's a detainer show me," Mumford stood, arguing before the judge.

Suddenly a group of about six U.S. Marshals surrounded Mumford at his defense table. The judge directed them to move back but moments later, the marshals grabbed on him.

"What are you doing?" Mumford yelled, as he struggled and was taken down to the floor.

As the deputy marshals yelled. "Stop resisting," the judge demanded, "Everybody out of the courtroom now!"

Mumford was taken into custody....

lawyer J. Morgan Philpot, said afterwards on the courthouse steps that Mumford had been arrested and marshals had used a stun gun, or Taser....

Philipot decried the marshals' treatment of Mumford in the courtroom. "What happened at the end is symbolic of the improper use of force by the federal government"....

You might want to check with your boss, “Dirty Cop” Comey, before you start making statements like that.

“The FBI has traditionally been known for their cool heads and honesty...”

They’ve got a good PR department, that’s all. You know Comey don’t play that.

Yes!

I’m so glad.

I’ll be honest, and you guys will not get this level of honesty from others here on the forum ...

I thought it was important for this forum to steer clear from this controversy just in case they were found guilty.

I assumed they were most likely guilty. And their defenders never really responded to me with any substance regarding their legal innocence.

So I owe them and you an apology. But please understand, I had assumed that an innocent patriot would get a strident and thoughtful defense from his friends.

WOW! Just WOW! Good news for the Bundy’s.

The Marshal’s service behavior has been noted. I used to think they were the last fed agency that had some integrity.

The Marshalls are left wing thugs, frustrated that they couldn’t railroad them. Still going after them for the ranch standoff even though they haven’t been able to manufacture enough lies after two years....

“I agree with the Freeper who said our law enforcement agencies need to be under congress and not the executive branch.”

How about we just get rid of federal law enforcement agencies altogether? We didn’t have the FBI until the 1930s. We did fine without them before then. We can do so now.

Ping to Fascism of Federal Government.

The civilized veneer of the Obama administration is wearing very thin.

Does anyone know if the Jury was present when the Lawyer was assaulted by the Marshalls?

I used to think they were the last fed agency that had some integrity.

A chance encounter in the early 1990's opened my eyes to the shortcomings of U.S. Marshals. "They ain't all good people."

I watched the events back in January closely and sensed as the days passed by that this was not about ‘heavily armed militia’ threatening violence.

People informing for the federal government and or political forces opposed to the protest in the Oath Keepers and III Percent organizations, showed up at the protest.

They created the militant atmosphere for the media to hook onto and to help the feds make their case against the protestors.

Out West, where I don’t live, something has been building for decades accelerating even more so in the aftermath of the establishment of the EPA.

Increasing regulation and control of the activities of loggers, farmers, ranchers etc. etc.

This ended up with things like Cliven Bundy’s dispute over ‘grazing fees’ in Nevada, the case of the Hammonds in Oregon getting mandatory jail sentences of five years and being considered terrorists for lighting a backfire to protect their land etc. etc. etc.

Lets call the whole thing the “Jim Crow land use system” in the West.

Our Uniparty Corporatist system favors big business that lines the politicians pockets and leaves these small folks unable to be productive on their land.

It looks like the liberals just found out they can’t convict peace loving citizens, so they’ll just have to shoot more of them.

The courtroom was full of people, I don’t know if she had formally dismissed the jury.

The “clear the courtroom” order forced people out quickly with the “OregonLive” reporter Maxine Bernstein leaving her raincoat behind.

If the lawyer was still at his table, and in his “zone”...then their behavior is such that they need to lose their badges forever. I’d go to the local judge and put in an assault report and have them face state court.

I posted numerous times mocking the made-up feral grubermint charges - just not to you personally, Arthur.
