New polls show Trump's lead growing in Texas

WASHINGTON — Two polls released Thursday indicated that Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has expanded his lead in Texas with just five days to go.

A joint poll from NBC News, The Wall Street Journal and Marist College put Trump up over Democratic rival Hillary Clinton 49 percent to 40 percent among likely voters in Texas. Libertarian Gary Johnson garnered 6 percent in the poll, and 2 percent of respondents said they are voting for Green Party candidate Jill Stein.

Trump’s lead shrank to 4 points among the larger universe of registered voters in Texas, at 45 percent to 41 percent. But pollsters tend to attribute more precision to the likely-voter tally, which takes into consideration whether respondents say they plan to vote or have in past elections.

Among those likely voters, 54 percent said they have already cast their ballots in early voting, and Trump led that group by 10 points, 52 percent to 42 percent.

Texas is in trouble. Trump will win it safely, but it’s turning from dark red to pink. In north Dallas, there has been a huge influx of foreigners—a significant number of them Arab—and it’s changing the demographics.

Texas was never even close to “in play” . That was total bull shit. Trump is winning over 35 % of legal Texas hispanics. Hillary is a pariah in Texas . I have many friends there. Quit any fantasy to the contrary.

Obama received 41.35% of Texas in 2012. If Hillary tops that in this election, then something is really wrong.

Good news considering Mrs. Bill’s strength in Austin, Houston, El Paso, Dallas, the Rio Grande Valley, and San Antonio.

Texas was never in play, all part of the media’s plan to make us believe Hellary was somehow expanding the map. It was complete and utter bs. Now let’s see if the media will report on these numbers.

“Obama received 41.35% of Texas in 2012. If Hillary tops that in this election, then something is really wrong.”

Not necessarily - don’t forget that Cruz won the state handily in the Primary, and I suspect that he has a rather significant following to this day with lower-information Republicans who aren’t quite able to understand what happens to this country should Hillary step foot in the White House. And then also the Evangelical bunch that are simply turned off by Trump.

This is a strange year for Texas, but Republicans are safe here, until and unless a mass Amnesty is passed - then all bets are off.
