Sasse Statement on Election
Lincoln, NE - U.S. Senator Ben Sasse issued the following statement:
"On Tuesday, America demanded disruption. My family and I congratulate President-Elect Trump on his decisive victory, and we pray that he will lead wisely and faithfully keep his oath to a Constitution of limited government. Starting today, I will do everything in my power to hold the President to his promises: to fight for an ethics reform package that upends cronyism and enacts term limits; to lead on repealing and replacing ObamaCare; and to nominate judges who reject law-making by unelected courts. Melissa and I wish the new First Family the best in the coming transition."

So, what did he have written down to say if St Hillary had won?
The first step in that process is to admit you have been wrong, and while I didn’t hear that from Sasse, maybe he has. As Pat Caddell has perfectly put it, the pundits and nevertrumpers are not “not capable of realizing that it is they who have become the adversary of the American people. And therefore they have been wrong, in this entire election cycle, every step of the way.”
Sorry he was never Trump, but we need to start thinking about holding Trump to his word. Trump’s recent talk about “coming together” is a bad sign.

So he is stating that he was never trying to hold Obama to the standard that he plans to hold Trump to.

Now he’s going to hold Trump to a tough ethics bill that he’ll introduce? What has he been doing in office up to now? Trump has already done more to create the environment for draining the swamp than this dweeb has done or ever will do.

He was sanctioned by the Nebraska GOP and warned by the state party that if he wants to run for reelection as a republican to stop bashing the party’s nominee (Trump). That is why he has remained silent on Trump recently!
Does it matter? What matters is what he does now. We can't afford to jettison potential allies just because of what happened in the past. President Trump is going to need all the help he can get.
Time to let bygones be bygones and unite and Make America Great Again.

EVERY President says that. Need to stop looking for shadows to freak out over. He is President of the USA. He has to reach out all sorts of people. Its part of the job if he wants to get anything done. Reagan had to do the same stick after he won.
This is why you sort are politically impotent. You are always so desperately worried about total ideological purity to your personal agenda, you never have any time or energy left to fight the real poltical enemy.
Nebraska needs to primary that POS.
Sasse is a lot more conservative than Trump on his toughest days.
You think I am too pessimistic, but I have seen too many betrayals begin after the talk of healing ends. If Hillary had won, she would be gloating, not talking about healing
