HÉNIN-BEAUMONT, France It was a moment of intense French patriotism on a sunny Friday, Armistice Day. A band blared La Marseillaise, the national anthem. Shouts of Vive la France! filled the chilly November air. And there, too, was Marine Le Pen, leader of the far-right National Front party, beaming.
Before Donald J. Trumps presidential victory in the United States this week, Ms. Le Pen was considered a disruptive political force but far from a true threat to become president herself when France votes next spring. Not anymore.
Since Wednesday, French news outlets, along with Ms. Le Pens mainstream political rivals, have been repeating the same thing: It could happen here.
And Ms. Le Pen is not alone. From the Balkans to the Netherlands, politicians on the far right have greeted the election of Mr. Trump with unrestrained delight and as a radical reconfiguring of the political landscape not just in the United States, but in Europe as well.

This is all a coincidence right? Nope, God is at work.
I’m hopefully that Trump’s victory will empower freedom movements around the world, especially in Europe.
:-)
How come the NYT never talks about the far left like Clinton, Blumenthal, Brazile and Podesta? I thought they were going to try to start being more honest and truthful with the American people. I guess that didn’t last long.
Keep calling someone racist long enough, they finally say, “so what.”
People all over the world can throw off the shackles of the unaccountable, elites, oppressors riding herd over them...

Trump train. Get on board.
Despite the fevered efforts of the Leftists and the Globalists to kill it off, patriotism is back!!
And its a winning issue thats what has the bleeding-hearts so afraid
I find it interesting that Trump is considered far right yet less than a year ago he wasn’t acceptable because he was too liberal.
Yep, this is the kind of victory that GW Bush squandered. I really hope that Trump stays the course and doesn’t start letting opinion polls run his administration like Bush did.
The French election may end up bigger than Trump. It has the potential of being thecspark that tears apart the EU.
That’s how libs and RINOs are. They live completely in their own heads, reality is whatever they decide, and it can change from minute to minute.
Same. There are lessons to be learned there and in the Reagan mistakes with Bush Sr.
I am optimistic about Trump staying the course. He is a different type of politician. I know that Roger Stone has a questionable reputation with some, but I have heard him speak and I know someone who has been collaborating with him. He has known Trump for 30-40 years and appears very confident that Trump will stick to his guns.
Le Pen will never win. Because the “Never Le Pen” people in the center-right keep joining with the Socialists in local elections to deny her party power, and will do the same for the presidency. Both establishments are mortally threatened by her.
You want a woman president? you’ve got one. think I can sneak into France and vote for her? I’d love to have her neice teach me French.
Why do they always refer to anything to the right of totalitarian communism: “The Far Right”?
It would be a nice spring with Le Pen in in France and Merkel out in Germany.
Amen to that!
