One out of every 40 people in America lives in New York City. The area's population is 8.4 million, more than in 39 other states. For every vote cast for Donald Trump in the city last Tuesday, more than four were cast for Hillary Clinton; she earned 79 percent of the vote.
In the wake of Trump's victory, thousands of protesters crowded the streets of Manhattan (where Trump got fewer votes than he did on Staten Island, where the population is a third smaller) outside Trump Tower. It's hard to know how many were there, but let's assume it was 5,000 people. That would mean that a fraction of a percent of the city took time to ride the train in and make their voices heard, assuming no one came in from anywhere else. Protests of thousands of people in New York really aren't that uncommon, which could have been a reasonable thing to point out if you wanted to brush the event away.
That's not the angle that Trump and his supporters took. Instead, the president-elect and his backers decided to dismiss the protests in New York and other cities cities that contain hundreds of thousands of people who mostly voted against Trump as being the work of paid protesters. In a tweet, Trump decided that the professional protesters, in his formulation, were also incited by the media, which doesn't make much sense.

Sorry to hear that she sucked you into her psychosis.
About all you can do is remind her that liberals across America were feeling just like this in November of 1980. It was all for naught. Reagan made America great for everyone, and so will President Trump.
Could you tell me who made those signs?
Mr. P must have “BUMPED his head on the toilet when he woke up to right this piece of crap.
The photo of the yellow and black sign that said “Peoples Power Assembly” is one good example of how the Communists use their signs to dominate a protest and make the reader think that they are anything more than a handful of psychopathic Marxists.
PPA is a front, esp. in Baltimore during the Freddy Grey protests, for the old-line once Trotskyite, now No. Korean Stalinists of the Workers World Party. In Baltimore it is led by Sharon Black, an identified WWP leader (in their own publications), not the Baltimore Sun who failed to identify her Marxist affiliation.
As for the protestors as a whole, esp. in New York City, I could raise 25,000 freaks and reds if I yelled “Free Donuts”. Kids just wanna protest, as Cyndi Lauper would say.
Most demonstrators couldn’t tell you who the new VP is going to be, who their own congresspersons are, where the Washington Monument is located, and who is buried in Lincoln’s tomb. They are just that dumb, under-educated, semi-literate, world events ignoramuses, and that’s just their good qualities.
I remember the protests of the 60’s thru 80’s that I covered as a reporter. At least some of the protestors could say a complete, intelligible sentence without having 6 “likes”, “huh”, “well”, and “so’s” in them.
These new protestors are society’s latest bunch of losers, even if their parents spend $25-50,000 a year trying to get them a college education. Instead of a BA or BS (which they are full of), they now graduate, if at all, with a “BR” degree as in “barrister” or “barmaid, bartender, or waiter/waitress”.
There is very little demand for teachers of “Ebonics”, “Gender Studies” except in California schools, and “The Social Life of Asexual Clams”.
Now let the real revolution begin. First thing we do is to ban “stupidity” as a national policy in education. From there on, it’s full speed ahead to clear the deadwood from society.
You’re trolling
Good point! Thanks!
Welcome nOOb...
You’re right about the protesters being ignorant...etc.
Thank you - good points - and yes I do pray for her!
Good info - thanks!
Actually not meaning to. Sincerely wanted help to refute my liberal family member’s sending this article to me. If it looks like I am trolling, my apologies.
One thing I've learned the hard way - you can't argue with fools lest you become one too (or reason with an unreasonable person). The best thing is just to drop it and leave them be. They've already made up their mind even before the lines were drawn. Perhaps by osmosis she will hear some information from some source that will kick start her brain to think logically and critically and she will figure oI that she's been lied to and manipulated. I have seen this same type of thing happen recently in my own family but after they heard about the evil side of Hillary they changed their vote to Trump. They had no clue about her past. I told them what they actually do at Bohemian Grove (infant sacrifice to Molech and / witchcraft), the parties with a Satanic theme, and her long term relationship with a guy who wrote a book and dedicated it to Lucifer plus a little info anoint the Lolita Express trips and info from her past SS guys who protected her had to say about her.
Thanks for your suggestion. Am glad some among your liberal family members were able to “see the light” and vote for Trump. I can only pray that my liberal family member will have a similar “awakening”.
The only way I have seen many liberals change their tune is to go hrough hardships where they are forced to learn things the hardway or to grow up which is kind of the same thing through one can come faster than the other if they have epiphanies. There's just something about learning to work hard and fix your own problems that rewires the brain towards being what we refer to as conservative in nature. Lefties are dependent on others; righties are self-sufficient. They don't like to hear that "truth, though.
There is an element of truth to their statement, as with all successful lies. Some of the protestors are real, and we don't know what fraction that is. Some are paid. The Craigslist ads are proof of the payment. You could even respond to one personally (act enthusiastic about the money) and give your personal experience.
They are protesting against the democratic process. AFAIK, none of them are suggesting that Trump cheated or stole the election.
Ask your liberal friends/relatives, "Who would protest democracy?." Normal people don't do that. The protests don't make sense unless the people doing them hate this country (or were hired by someone who hates the country).
Cut her loose. You’ll be much happier. Besides you cannot reason with anyone who lies unto themselves... ...and then believes that very lie.
THese people are bussed in out of state
The proof is in the organization of the democrats, which is federative action with top down control. Nothing is local grass root. It is not how they want to organize the country and let alone organize themselves.
