The NEA and all other public sector unions need to be found illegal and disbarred immediately

The fact that the NEA is against her, makes me want to endorse her. Power on.... Charge on. Stay the course. Keep draining the swamp.

The NEA has just done a bang-up job with public “education” esp in the big cities, hasn’t it?

No one in the Trump Admin could possibly hurt education as much as the NEA has over time.

Past time to de-unionize “Teachers” Let them negotiate individually like the rest of us do. Good teachers will be amply rewarded Bad “teachers” will get what they deserve

We believe that the chance for the success of a child should not depend on winning a charter lottery, being accepted by a private school, or living in the right ZIP code.

What BS!!!!! When they fight for exactly the opposite of ANYthing that could possibly lead to competition and better outcomes!

This is all the proof I need to justify supporting her appointment.

Except she is for common core and that NEEDS to be obliterated. Some areas are even forcing homschoolers to do certain number of hours of common core.

Really, just someone in a bully pulpit to convince local boards to institute phonics (as opposed to “whole word” or “blended”) reading pedagogy would be a huge step that would help young children instantly.

And it would sidestep the vouchers debate.

Fumigate the DoE, close it doors, and lock it up. Or else Trump has missed the opportunity of a generation. The NEA is nothing but a political arm of the DoE.

Garcia is the reason why the US ranks 26th among developed nations in education. Obviously Garcia isn’t interested in all students

It's NEA that pushes the lowest common denominator "standards" of cookie cutter "common core". It's garbage. The charter schools represent freedom of choice and diversity of offerings that can be tailored to the students. NEA is so stupid they can't see contradiction in their own statements.

In short, the NEA opposes her. That’s as good an endorsement as any.
