I prefer these “students” were under Castro too. They’d get a good taste of reality.

I read the article, but missed this: What does the “A” in “AU” stand for? Did anyone else catch it?

Change the name from American University to Castro University. Idiots do not deserve to have their higher education institution named after a nation founded on liberty.

Ignorance, a tendency to mindlessly follow the herd of opinion, making choices based on emotion rather than logical analysis. That’s what paying $45,000 per year to attend American University will get your kids, parents.

Then I think we should all contribute to a fund for their permanent relocation to Cuba. Reminds me of a Communist Party rally I attended with some German conservatives in Wiesbaden in the mid-1980s. A German friend asked me to join him and some of his friends - just for the entertainment value.

A number of speakers extolled the virtues of the economy and life in the DDR (the former East Germany). Upon being recognized, my friend stood up, held up 100,000 Deutsche Marks and stated (auf Deutsche, of course), “My family was originally from Dresden, now in the DDR and I’m permitted to visit those remaining in Dresden but once a year. This 100,000 marks is for anyone here who will live anywhere in the DDR for at least one year.” There were no takers - not a one.

Be careful what you ask for...

OMG. These kids are idiots.

They really have no idea about the Cold War.

My father was furious (he was Bohemian) when the Soviets rolled into Czechoslovakia; so was my grandfather (who spoke Polish); they lived in Chicago.

Do they not have any relatives who have any sense of recent history?

This is a massive failure of the education system. Propaganda instead of truth.

Exactly what the Soviets did, btw.

“I mean, right now I don’t think Donald Trump is very good, and I know that Fidel Castro has done some good things for the world so I’d say he’s proven himself at least in the long term to be more favorable,” one student opined after referencing Castro’s health care reforms in Cuba.

The ignorance and bigotry displayed by these "students" is appalling. The student is ignorant of who Trump really is, and more ignorant of the so-called "good" things Fidel has not done for the world.

He must get all his news and information from CNN, NBC, CBS, ABC, MSNBC, and the Democratic party. Perhaps the students are not aware of other sources of information, or do not have the motivation or ability to think for themselves.

It would be really interesting to get honest answers from the same poll of Cuban students attending a CU!

“They really have no idea about the Cold War.”

Even worse: When 9/11 happened, they were around 4-5 years old. The cultural impact of the event has faded rapidly.
