Trump Picks Elaine Chao As Transportation Secretary
Zero Hedge ^ | 11/29/2016

Posted on 11/29/2016 11:02:37 AM PST by SeekAndFind

In the first of what Mike Pence called "several very important announcements," Politico reports that former Labor Secretary Elaine Chao is set to be announced later Tuesday as President-elect Donald Trump’s choice to lead the Department of Transportation.

The other contender for the position was former Democratic U.S. Representative from Tennessee Harold Ford.

As Politico adds:

Chao, who ran the Labor Department under President George W. Bush, met with the incoming president at Trump Tower last week and discussed labor and transportation policy, Trump’s transition team said then.

The formal announcement is expected at 1 p.m., one source said.

The wife of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), Chao is the first Asian-American woman to hold a Cabinet-level position. She also served as deputy secretary of transportation under President George H.W. Bush. Chao was also a member of Trump’s Asian Pacific American Advisory Council during the campaign.

Trump could be causing a lot of vacancies in Congress, from that list. Plenty of new faces could be coming on board on the Hill.

Zalmay Khalilzad, former U.S. ambassador to Iraq

Wouldn't that be interesting? It just might cause liberal heads to explode. (Which would create some actual, legitimate work for the EPA.)

Chao is a brilliant appointment that joins the Senate Majority Leader to President Trump’s hip right from the gitgo, and nearly guarantees that Mitch delivers the entire GOP Senate to Trump on nearly every issue for four years.

Not to mention, the woman has excellent experience and credentials, and clearly has amazing political instincts and capabilities since she’s pretty much the power that’s pushed the Mitch throne into the forefront since she married him in 1993.

Also, do keep in mind that Cabinet heads exist SOLELY to carry out a President’s orders. Period. They’re like VPs in a corporation who exist solely to implement the CEO’s policy and philosophy. Their jobs are NOT to set policy and philosophy, but to IMPLEMENT policy and philosophy. They all know that when they’re appointed.

She’s not a Chinese spy.

Her relationship with the communist Chinese is very open.

We criticized her as a pick for Bush’s cabinet back when. Same now.

"The other contender for the position was former Democratic U.S. Representative from Tennessee Harold Ford"

WHAAAAAT?

Does the Trump administration even know what a bunch of crooks the Ford family of Memphis are???

Harold Ford was the Dims' first choice when they went trolling for a black face to run for President - until they did a little looking into his background.
Imagine how bad you have to be to be too crooked to run as a Dimocrat!!!

You do understand that if ANY of his (our) agenda is to get passed, he needs 51 of the 52 GOP Senators to pass it don't you?

You do understand that he can't just work this with executive orders, don't you?

Deals. He makes deals. We all voted for someone who makes deals to make things work. If you haven't read his book, then don't bitch so much.

Harold Ford will always have a soft spot in my heart after he made a last-ditch campaign appearance at a VFW hall or with a similar veteran's group in Tennessee, and gave us this magnificent photo for the history books:

LMAO.

Mrs. Submareener worked in Elaine Chao’s DOL. She told me that the bureaucrats were always complaining, while riding in the elevators, about her wanting “results” and how terrible that was. That’s good enough for me.

Not every deal is good, including this one. We don’t have to be cheerleaders for every decision he makes. I certainly won’t be.

Someone help please...
I can’t find anywhere, yet, where TRUMP has actually announced. All of the words are innuendo and the title is FAKE.
I find no record of absolute confirmation. As of 2:34 EST.
Open to any comments.
Thanks.

Actually, you have no idea if this is good or not.

IMHO, if it helps bring ANY of his (our) agenda to fruition and reality, it's very good, and there's a very good argument it does just that. There's also a very good argument that TS won't have any down side because of her, nor will the agenda.

Old lyric: "You can't roller skate in a buffalo herd".

You might want to think about it. But then, you are, after all......you.....

Yeah, Ford’s a crook, from a long line of crooks, but he’s a genuine moderate and would have been a much better first black president than Obama.

Now, he’s just an asterisk. Nice pic, though ;)
