Don’t like it. Why would Trump reward someone who not only savaged him but did every thing he could to derail his campaign, including run that idiot Egg McMuffin against him to try to steal EVs?

Makes no sense.

The reason - IMO: to consolidate the neo-cons and the GOPe into the voting block in 2020. Assuming they can get something worked out between the two of them on Russia, it could work. Not my favorite pick but would go a long ways towards reconciling the party factions. Trump can always replace him if needed.

It makes sense to me. (even if I’m not sure it will work) My take on it is simple. Trump thinks Romney brings instant credibility to his administration and a more measured, temperate hand. Most of that is directed at International relations. Some toward the Dems.

That’s my guess.

Seems really bizarre to me too. Either Trump is trying to make nice,

or he genuinely is trying to do put best men in best jobs - his perception of which.

There’s some really concerning decision making going on in any case.

Of course there is always them dark smoky backrooms where in all honesty, an entire agenda could have been decided for his first term.

So many possibilities, the truth will come out over next few years - and my one constant thought throughout is that Trump is putting the country first, and there is no logical reason for him to renegade right after snatching victory from the jaws of defeat.

If he doesnt deliver the wall, repeal of Obama Care and other such changes - he will go down equally hated by all - including people like you and me.

I disagree. Rewarding people who support you is exactly what a politician would do. Choosing the best person for the job despite their lack of affiliation with you is what politicians never do. Whether Romney is or is not the best person for the job, I do not know, but I trust Trump’s instinct about people. It has made him a billionaire.

I must be slow. To whom does Egg McMuffin refer to?

I keep seeing this but, haven’t made the connection.
