Outgoing Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid and President Obama are taking one more stab at retaining control of the Internet before they leave Washington.
Harry Reid and President Obama are circulating a petition to remove the hold on FCC Commissioner Jessica Rosenworcel so that she can be reconfirmed before Congress recesses next week.
If Obama and the Senate Democrats successfully reconfirm Rosenworcel, the FCC will remain in Democratic control during President-elect Trump’s administration. Her reconfirmation would block Trump’s ability to nominate both Jamison and Eisenach.

Legit? Not a big consideration for me. “Realism” is the operative concept as far as I’m concerned. And my bottom line conclusion is that the “article” basically is void of same.

That’s not likely to happen, the FCC oversees equipment authorizations which is the screening of electronic products for operation so they do not cause harmful interference to other electronic devices, like those used by public safety, law enforcement all the way down to your next door neighbors wireless router and microwave oven.
They also issue operating permits to radio and TV stations and administer the data base that ensures operation on a non interference basis.
Scale them back to just authorizations and wireless station licenses and relieve them of all other responsibilities.
