I’ve got to believe that the strategic Dems (yeah, it could happen) have already moved past Hillary and Angry Santa to select younger blood for 2020. Sanders is too old and Hillary failed badly. The foundation $$ will dry up - who would bet on her now?

The Dems have four years to position and promote new leaders. In a couple of years the new blood will emerge. Watch for it.

We should enjoy the victory without short-selling the enemy.

I think they're already pre-positioning Kamala Harris, newly elected senator from CA (replacing the retiring Barbara Boxer).

The strategic thinkers have realized that to win the presidency, they're going to need an Obama style redux. I.e., another candidate-of-color who can excite the low-info voters to come out in droves to vote for an "historic" candidate. A white woman just didn't cut it.

My prediction is the Dems will go for a woman of color. Michelle O is too dumb. But Harris is smart, and is actually a three-fer in the historic department: (1) woman; (2) half black (Wikipedia describes her father as Jamaican-American; (3) half Asian (Wikipedia describes her mother as an immigrant from India).

I agree with your analysis. Meanwhile, I don’t expect Hillary to fade away. She can’t. She is totally obsessed with gaining power. I imagine she is plotting her comeback to power at this very moment. But the democrats can’t risk another failed attempt. And the power brokers in the party are not clueless about her health.
