Donald Trump Is Inheriting the Best Economy in a Generation Thanks to Obama

Thanks, Obama!

Donald Trump had a rocky campaign. And the transition has been bumpy as well. But he looks to be rolling onto the presidency on the smoothest economic path of any president in a long time.

Data ranging from wage and job growth to manufacturing-sector indicators show that Donald Trump is getting an economy in better shape than any new president in a generation. Take a look at the following four indicators to see just how fortunate the President-elect is:

GDP Growth

The only indicator that shows Trump inheriting a generally weaker economy than is typical is GDP growth. As you can see from the following chart, while Trump will assume management of a much stronger economy than Obama did eight years ago, GDP growth over the past year has been historically weak.

This fact is mitigated somewhat by a more slowly growing population, which leads to slower overall growth than a quickly growing population does. (Although even per capita measures of real GDP growth show the U.S. becoming richer at a slower pace.) And the fact that growth has been picking up recently. The economy grew at a 3.2% pace in the third quarter.

Wage Growth

Despite the good economy, voter surveys show that a good portion of Americans were unhappy with the economy. And that’s why GDP matters. It’s much more common for the typical American’s material situation to improve in an economy when overall GDP is growing quickly. So slow GDP growth has equally little or no raises. And that’s resulted in unhappy workers.

But that’s changing too. Recently there’s evidence that growth in wages in outpacing growth of the overall economy.

Excellent points. It why Marxist-Leninist invented Politcal Correctness. When they could not make the facts fit the ideological dogma, they simply changed the facts to fit the dogma.

95+ million not in workforce is only good to a sick liberal who is happy to see Americans suffer. But then it is Matthews.

Oh would I like to have a little talk with Chrissy and school him!

Thanks to BOs war on coal and EPA regulations, many are suffering through Os fake propped up economy. Especially anyone connected to the manufacturing segment of the economy. It trickles over to others. We are so grateful to have already seen business improve in the past 4 weeks. And it is no thanks to Barky and his pen.

With debt/GDP standing at 102%, it’s hard to see where any growth in the economy is going to come from.

As with election results, it’s the people who count the numbers that need to be watched very carefully.

Your good graphics show how Chris Matthews is an operator of “Fake News” meant to damage the public understanding.

Job #1 of the new Commerce and Labor secretaries is to correct the intentionally false data points back as far as possible. 45 should announce that the US government will no longer misstate economic statistics to manipulate the economy. This latest “good” news is more manufactured nonsense designed to invent a winning reputation for the failed little emperor obam.

Our income is very connected to the economy, especially overall manufacturing. We actually started to see the downturn in 2006, when the dems took over congress. Then in Sept. 2008 the bottom fell out, businesses closed. On a side note, it is interesting to look back in retrospect how McCain just slithered away from his campaign that month.

Business picked back up for us about 2012. BO had a re-election to win. It decreased again in 2014. Last December it fell to levels worse than 2009. My personal theory was that after the 2014 mid terms were behind the Pharoah, his attitude was a combination of who cares, scorched earth, and punishment to the middle class people of this country. He had a phone and a pen.

Just a personal perspective from someone highly impacted by the economic policies, or lack there of, of this administration.

[ 95+ million not in workforce is only good to a sick liberal who is happy to see Americans suffer. ]

And, written off and forgotten by Obama, Hillary, 99.99% of D.C. in general, and much of the public. God help you if you don’t have family nor friends.

People who have been out of the workforce for 10-15 years have no idea how things have changed. For the worse.
