A St. Cloud husband-and-wife film company is challenging the constitutionality of Minnesotas human rights act, arguing that they will be punished for refusing wedding services to same-sex couples.
In one of the first challenges since same-sex marriage became legal in Minnesota, Carl and Angel Larsens Telescope Media Group filed suit Tuesday in federal court against the states commissioner of human rights and attorney general.
The complaint describes the Larsens as Bible-believing Christians who believe that many see marriage as a punch line for jokes, a means for personal gratification, an arrangement of convenience, or a method of achieving social status.
Their suit has the backing of a large Christian legal nonprofit, the Alliance Defending Freedom, which is at the center of worldwide battles over transgender bathroom policies, marriage equality and contraception.

They should just say they think these customers are Trump supporters.
The government will then let you do ANYTHING to them. Including violence.
And no reports will appear in the news.

“St. Cloud couple file suit so they can RUN THEIR OWN BUSINESS AS THEY WISH”
I haven’t heard of any devout Catholic bakers, florists, hall renters, caterers, refuse to serve divorced people entering on a second marriage.
How many businesses have now refused to service conservatives?
Some dumbf*ck high fashon designers have publicly stated they would never do work with Melania. Some other moron who was on Tucker’s show vowed to fire all employees and not do business with people who Trump. I’ve read dozens of these stories in recent weeks.
Yet some small business doesn’t want two fags getting married in their lobby, and the entire state and federal justice departments descend.
A good point.
Maybe because no divorced Catholics have filed lawsuits trying to ruin people who don’t want their business
“Gay marriage won’t affect you, so you should accept it.”
How would they know the situation of a normal male female couple? Do they advertise that it is a second marriage with no annulment?
Exactly. The comparisons to divorced couples is dumb on its face
This is easy folks. Show up for the wedding and take the film as expected. Before it is released to the happy couple, replace the soundtrack with clown music, sound effects and a laugh track.
When they complain, tell them their films are “art” and this is their interpretation. Should they be sued for artistic expression? You asked for a film, and you got one. Congratulations!
I’m a big fan of clown music.
What a disgustingly biased title!
But it does highlight one of the left’s many hypocrisies. Private entrepreneurs are being told they must accept everything they find objectionable while professors are telling university students they should ignore or vilify those they disagree with. Sad.
Maybe most folks wouldn’t be so conditioned to think marriage is created by and defined by whatever the civil law of the state happens to be at the time if Catholics had made a big deal about civil divorce and remarriage in the Western culture. Pope Leo XIII warned about the civil authorities defining marriage 130+ years ago. All it can ever be is whatever judges, pols, or the voting majority happens to think it is at any one time. That’s all marriage ever was or can be to the state in the modern era.

“Based on recent outcomes, they’re screwed.”
Yes. However, if it were Barak and Huma Hussein, they would likely win.
Unfortunately that is true for many heterosexual couples too.
Probably because the haven't had anyone turn it down?
But the plaintiffs have a point. I agree with their suggestion that businesses should be free to turn down business from anyone as long as they clearly advertise that fact on their website or their store. If they don't want to provide services to homosexuals or Muslims or any other group then say so, and let the market sort things out.
Explain to all prospective clients that they do not provide services in support of adulterous relationships and then ask if their union falls under that category.
