Facebook, Google, Twitter and Microsoft are banding together to mount a terrorism takedown on their platforms.
The tech giants announced Monday they are working together to build a new database that will identify extremist content through a digital hash, which is sort of like a digital watermark.
The idea is that by sharing these hashes in a global database with their partners, it will be easier to identify and swiftly remove any terror content if it's also published to other platforms.
"We hope this collaboration will lead to greater efficiency as we continue to enforce our policies to help curb the pressing global issue of terrorist content online," a statement from the group said.
The four companies signed a voluntary pledge earlier this year in Europe, saying that they'd work to remove terror content within 24 hours.

We all likely had the same thoughts you did upon reading the title of the article. Of course the trending media mantra on “fake news” fills in the blanks. Forums and news sites such as this one are targets. Drudge has frequently been specifically mentioned. Of course the Islamist sites will garner First Amendment rights denied the “hate speech” of the TEA Party/Trump individuals and groups.

Exactly my first thought. Terrorist may mean an enemy of the left along with the pervert parade, the Muslims, the UN, and the dictators.
Facebook and Twitter were involved in Egypt promoting the muslim brotherhood terrorists so to answer your question. Not terrorists but Americans and anyone else who believe in freedom.
sure they do. Something tells me NBC, ABC, Facespook, Gergle, and any MSM cares nothing but money and power. I trust them with nothing, I have no respect for them, and would actively pursue methods of destroying their livelyhood.
I’m sure it’s not terror content they seek to stifle, its dissenting opinion. This is yet another false flag where they can “ANNOUNCE” plans to take down terror content, but simply stifle free speech, then when free speechers complain, they’ll label them terrorists.
