TRENTON -- President-elect Donald Trump offered Gov. Chris Christie numerous positions in his incoming administration, but the New Jersey governor turned them down, two sources with knowledge of Trump's transition efforts told NJ Advance Media.
The sources said those jobs included Cabinet-level posts like Homeland Security secretary and Veterans Affairs secretary, as well as other posts, like a White House advisory role and U.S. ambassador to Italy.
But the sources noted Christie, a longtime Trump friend and adviser, was not offered the role of U.S. attorney general -- a post the governor reportedly coveted.

When asked by the media when Trump went with Christie to New Jersey after he won the Republican Nomination, Christie said he didn’t want a cabinet position, he wanted to finish out his term as Governor of New Jersey...
And who are these ‘sources’ that the ‘fake news’ quote???
Fake News
if he was offered them and didn’t want them, that’s fine. He was offered and that’s what counts. He’s a good friend of the United States President which never hurts. He will do just fine.
I can't think of any reason why someone would rather be a lame-duck governor in New Jersey for one year instead of a cabinet member for several years, but two of Christie's kids are still in high school and middle school.
Food allowance too small.
Many years ago I gave up an extraordinary job....cuz I was happy where I was at. Regret it?? Who knows. I never lived it.
I can.
It isn’t surprising and it doesn’t come as a shock to anybody who bothers to think about it even a little bit.
Trump’s insistence on divesture of potential conflict of interest business dealings coupled with his insistence of five years no lobbying after leaving whatever post is a barrier to the traditional Washington insider crowd.
A position in Trump’s cabinet isn’t going to be anything like as lucrative a deal as any cabinet since Eisenhower.
Donut-runner?
Likwise a well known gun manufacturer...would have meant uprooting everything
If true, thank you Jesus.
The champion of Bridgegate expected to be named Attorney General? Sorry, I don’t think so.
Food taster?
Wouldn’t he have to fight John KaySick over that position???
I’m willing to bet that he turned down jobs that he didn’t want. Too bad. He wasn’t good enough for the jobs he wanted. He let his ego get control over his reasoning.
Christie would have been horrible at DHS.
I think Trump asks these guys if they’d like to be considered for such and such a position—and they take and report it as if they had been offered the position.
Grow up.
No sense of humor, I see. I guess christie is some sort of “untouchable”. Seriously, though. Don’t you think the guy should lose some weight and show some self-discipline? Just what is your definition of “”growing up”? I think it might be to “worship politicians. Really.

“the guy should lose some weight”
this article says he only sleeps 3-4 hours a night. He had weight loss surgery some years ago and has dropped some weight.
I’ve read and know from experience if you don’t get enough sleep any weight loss you a tempt is some what hindered. It’s all connected, sleep, stress, appetite working properly or out of control, etc, all the systems in the body need to work together for the body to be at it’s ideal health, it’s not just about “lose weight”
