Fortunately, the Dems limit their idiocy to days that end in Y.

these people are unhinged. Screw loose Geez
Bwahahaha... yeah, and that’s ALL Democrats can do at this point — introduce bills. All their introduced bills will pile up and go straight to some committee never to be seen or heard from again.
He will if they will guess what’s not going to happen.
I'm not wasting any time worrying about this, to be sure. Just more theater of the absurd.

“Senate Dems rolling out bill to force Trump to shed conflicts of interest”
hahahahahaha, thanks to “the” Harry Reid no one gives a $hit what you think....hahahahahaha 53 to 47...simple majority rules. Thanks Harry.
Just as soon as ALL federal politicians and employees of the federal government divest ALL of their financial interests, and divest ALL income sources not coming out of their federal payroll check!
Any answer other than OKAY makes them a bunch of lying cheating hypocrites.
That means if you are a federal employee, or a politician at the federal level, you CANNOT derive ANY income from a source other than the payroll check you receive from the treasury dept. No second jobs, no stocks, no bonds, no companies, no nothing that could possibly corrupt or influence your thinking as a federal employee or official.
If you don’t like it, then don’t work for the feds!
The Senate sets the ethical rules for Senators. Not for the President or members of the Supreme Court, not for that for the U.S. House of Representatives. This is the doctrine of checks and balances. They’re each co-equal branches of the federal government.
Trump is a smart guy, and I am sure he has been thinking about his businesses since he was deciding to run. I don’t think he has ever intended to continue running the business. He is at an age and his children are at the age and ability where he would be thinking of transitioning his business to them anyway. His position now is a starting point to negociate. He can attach to this bill limits on lobbying, or term limits on congress. Let’s see what he can get for it.
The Government -- at any level -- is prohibited from passing laws aimed at specfic people.
Let the Senate and House pass it, and let Obama sign it. It'll never make it past the Federal Appeals process. If by some stroke of luck it does, the USSC would have no choice but to rule it Un-Constitutional. Should they not, that's our signal that the courts are rigged and it's time for us to mobilize against it.
Exactly. Constitutionally illegal.
Sure - as soon as HRC sends back all of the money from TCF and Bill and Her both return all of the millions of speaking money they received for banks, foreign countries, etc.
First thing I thought. Bill of attainder. But hey, we are talking about Democrats here. Raping the Constitution is what they do.
As do the RINO's and NEVER-TRUMPERS.
There is already something called the STOCK (Stop Trading on Congressional Knowledge) Act that prevents members of Congress or of the Executive Branch from using information that they come into contact with as part of the official duties to further their financial gains. So Trump is already prohibited from using his office to enrich himself or family. What good would an additional law do?
It has zero chance of becoming law.
Its a partisan political stunt to embarrass Trump.
But those are kinds of silly political games Democrats play.
True but the corrupt press will run with the story anyhow. (The New York Times and Washington Post are the Ad Agency for the Democrat Party...)
Circlecity,
Where in the bill does it exempt senators?
If this is the case, then EVERY Senator and Representative should have to give up any businesses that they or their husbands or wives own....
Conflict of interest, you know....
Kabuki Theater - Trump has already started doing exactly that.
