Google, Facebook and Twitter are facing a lawsuit filed by the families of three victims killed by Pulse nightclub gunman Omar Mateen in Orlando. The plaintiffs are accusing the tech titans of providing "material support" to Mateen, who was known to have pledged allegiance to ISIS and its leader. According to their lawsuit, the families are suing the companies for allowing the terrorist group to create accounts to raise funds and to spread propaganda with the intention of attracting new recruits.

The material support these tech giants provide, the lawsuit says, "has been instrumental to the rise of ISIS and has enabled it to carry out or cause to be carried out, numerous terrorist attacks." In addition, the plaintiffs are accusing the companies of profiting from ISIS-related posts by combining them with advertisements and of violating the Anti-Terrorism Act in the United States.

More power to them.

Those sites can’t say they don’t patrol for speech content since they have very long and deep histories of censoring conservative speech.

I hope the plaintiffs get a bazillion dollars!

You would think that the NSA would identify certain keywords and phrases like “I support ISIS” (<~~ look like I am on their list now) and take some action.

Or are they too busy keeping an eye on those other terrorists- conservatives

can you reprint or link to all of the depositions? I know it’s a lot, but, we need a weak link for the three.

Firstly these sights may have propaganda. But they don’t have actual conversations. Crimes are not planned on them. Possibly calls to jihad are broadcast there.

Its more likely that chat rooms in Call to Power and other games are used to communicate. These people don’t need Facebook to talk.

And conservatives need to be ware. The elites will curtail speech they don’t like along with ISIS speech. Its conservatives that will get hurt more. ISIS will go somewhere else. Or just open different accounts. But conservatives will be harassed too. Especially pro-gun and anti government sites. Or sites that critique groups like BLM or immigrants.

My thought is this ...

What if we treat Radical web sites for Terror with beheadings and stuff like it was Kid-Porn?

Access them would become a crime and hosting and/or creating such a web site is a crime.

Wouldn’t throw a wrench in their gears to radicalize people?

This should be interesting.

As much as I despise Twitter, Facebook and Google, finding them liable in any way for this guy’s actions would set a dangerous precedent.

Not at all. They are too busy perusing porn during their work day, just like workers at the NIH.

I'm with you. Although as pointed out above, they have been known to censor conservative content so this is kind of delicious. The precedent this would set is far more dangerous, though.

NSA probably did, and then realizing he was a Muslim, immediately dismissed any terrorist involvement.

See something, say something = good citizen.

See something, don't say something = accessory.

Well, maybe. But people like Frontpage’s Jamie Glasov is constantly being threatened by Facebook mods for simply posting the truth about islam. So payback is, indeed, a bitch...

In that case, maybe the families should be suing the users of Twitter, Facebook and Google.

Not fans of those sites but I see this as no different from the families in Sandy Hook suing the gun manufacturer for what the murderer did.

Sadly, the families cannot sue the agencies which allowed any terrorist to slip through the cracks.

And this time they've hit the motherload.....Zuckerberg and Google could stand to lose a bit of their fortune but I doubt they will due to political connections and the fact that it would be near impossible to screen, monitor and control all the data flowing across their servers effectively. And then there's the first amendment issue. We'll have to see how this plays out.
