So, they have agreed to increase fracking and nuclear power generation. Good! That should shrink California’s gigantic carbon footprint.

Brown knows he’ll lose this but he’s going to go this route because he wants to set himself up as the great democrat fascist hope of 2020.

California's own version of loopy Al Gore?

”… to defend and strengthen what were already far and away the most aggressive policies to fight climate change in the nation."

Doesn’t California have a large number of car-driving, water-drinking illegal aliens, things that arguably contribute to global warming?

If such is the case then California does not have aggressive policies to fight global warming. California is being purely politically correct for whatever it stands to gain concerning global warming politics.

Corrections, insights welcome.

>>I actually think the Liberals are about to ‘tip over’, and Trump is going to do it.<<

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

That is an interesting perspective.

If true, I think it will be accomplished by weeding out many thousands of parasites like Marxist college professors, subsidized climate change companies, do-nothing consultants feeding at the federal trough, crony bureaucracies at all levels of government (even school districts) . . . and many other such cleansings.

California wisdom:

The San Joaquin, Sacramento and Klamath rivers dump millions of gallons of fresh water into the ocean every hour. A pipeline from those rivers feeding lakes and the central valley could end droughts forever, make the entire state a garden spot and produce capital of the world.

Instead Moonbeam wants a bullet train to Bakersfield.

The gubmint should just take California for themselves declaring the state’s government to be too stupid to care for itself (Generally speaking- all the good and decent folks in Cali would then be free to live life like life was meant to be lived- without people like Jerriatric Brown at the helm)

Key sentence: “The Trump administration could reduce funds for the state’s vast research community.”

I can see those off-ramp guys now - “Will Research for Food”.

** Idiots in Sacramento think they can change the climate on their own. **

Well...yes. They passed a law to keep cows from farting too much. No joke. They did.

Global warming is a wealth distribution scheme.

Take money from the middle class and distribute it to friends of Democrats who in return give nice campaign contributions.

The beauty of all this is they do not have to prove they are doing any good. It is a win win.

It is like the billion dollar train to nowhere. No one expects it to get built but think of the millions of dollars that can be siphoned off.

The bottom line, California is a one party state controlled by special interest, all who are getting some sort of kick back.

Born and raised in Kalifornia (back when it was California). I am old enough to have voted for Reagan for President, but not old enough to have voted for Governor Reagan. I do remember Reagan and S. I. Hayakawa telling academic liberal elites (and their skulls full of mush students) to grow up and get to class. Occupying the Dean’s Office was not lauded, it led to arrest. Back then they taught the truth about the Ice Ages cycle: 100,000 years of cold and ice, and then 10,000 to 15,000 years of warming. We are already overdue for more ice and cold. This 100,000 year cycle has been repeating for millions of years. The wackos and creepozoids have successfully labeled a plant food, C02, as a pollutant. Since all oil and gas contain much C02, the wackos are hell bent on controling us by controlling the C02.
