The marching band of a historically black college in Alabama will perform in President-elect Donald Trumps Jan. 20 inaugural parade despite a barrage of criticism, the schools president announced Thursday.
Talladega College President Billy Hawkins confirmed what the Presidential Inaugural Committee had announced Dec. 30. It was the first official word from the school. The Inaugural Committees announcement last month had ignited passionate debate on the campus and around the nation.

Don’t they realize that they are supposed to think Trump is a racist???? They didn’t get the memo??? They don’t watch MSNBC to get the latest talking points???? What the heck???
Should be an award, not questioned. If all Black, Latino, Gays, etc. where in the Inaugural Parade the media would question them too.
Or should I instead wonder how many will?
Hopefully they will all be proud to be there, as they should be, and play their best. I hate that I am so cynical these days.
You haven’t seen a marching band unless you’ve seen the Florida A&M Rattlers!
I’m proud of this band already and am looking forward to their performance.
Good for the band! I hope they receive a loud and long ovation as they’re making their way through the parade.
That would be kinda hard to do in a constantly moving parade.
