The title:
“Paul Ryan Just Surrendered On Two Big Issues”

Paul Ryan is my enemy and I immediately assumed the surrender was a good thing.

I’m happy my assumption was correct!

Ryan’s mind will never be right. He is married to the left. He’s just being cagey.

Correct on all counts, but at least he seems to be coming to the realization that his globalist agenda is dead, for now, and that he will do the bidding of the people and the President, or be crushed.

Me either... Ryan’s going to be working WITH Trump... it’ll all be fine in 13 or so days.

I know. In this case the link was clean and coherent and informative.

LOL! In this era, it’s impossible to ditch the adrenalin on all occasions, with me too.

Geesh. That happens frequently! Reading an article, totally losing your cool and finding due to high blood pressure the top of your head sits on the ceiling above. Reading thru the blood red shooting out of our eyes is not done without difficulty!

DJT is certainly well aware of Ryan’s faults and tendencies.
As an adult, he has far more experience than does Ryan.

Just a thought, journalists, reporters should opt for a Go Fund Me Page and begin to take donations for refresher courses in writing a legible article. The classrooms might not be full, but the poor creatures might learn ‘something’ as to how to write in order to relay information in a clear format.

The only problem is that Ryan’s promise doesn’t mean squat.

He’s lied whenever he’s had to and many times when he didn’t.

Ryno surrendered any power when he became Speaker. He can’t vote unless there’s a tie. Other than that, he’s nothing.

I don’t believe it was just two.

"Ryan’s third promise puts an end to the president’s open-border trade policies . . . "

You must have read the excerpt.

Or, you could be better informed.

Go find the video of Ryan schooling Obama on budget issues.

If tax reform reduces overhead by 10% and Regulatory reform reduces production costs by 20% and killing Obamacare reduces payroll costs by 5%, then companies can profitably return to U.S. production without ANY tariffs.

Just because Trump uttered the word “tariffs” doesn’t mean it is necessary or optimal to get the end result he’s after.

Me too, and I have made a mental note to myself. Read the entire article first. 8>)

I prefer my method...

If the POSTER hasn't read the entire article and can summarize it in one or two sentences, I skip it and move on to the next thread.

Watch an idiot schooling an idiot. no thanks. But let's look at Ryan's claims.

"killing Obamacare reduces payroll costs by 5%"
Did Obamacare raise payroll taxes by 5%? I don't think it did. It imposed a direct payroll tax of 0.9%. It imposed a mandate on individuals but that's not paid by employers. It forced states to increase medicaid, again not paid by employers. It drove a lot of employers to convert full time jobs to part time jobs, to avoid paying benefits. That might have driven payroll costs down. There was a penalty for not having insurance placed on employers but large manufacturers already provided insurance. It probably did increase costs for smaller companies. I think you will get 0.9% savings and that's it.

"tax reform reduces overhead by 10%"
So what percent of total costs are overhead? Let's say 30%. So 10% * 30% = 3%. But to reduce overhead by 10%, taxes have to be at least 10% of overhead. Are they? Ryan wants to cut Medicare and SS taxes. But do that and the GOP won't win another election for 50 years. So what taxes is he going to cut to get a 10% reduction in overhead costs???

"Regulatory reform reduces production costs by 20%"
Really? Is regulatory reform going to reduce the cost of direct raw materials? No. Or direct labor? No. You know what it's going to reduce? Overhead! And probably by 1-5% not 20%. So now you have 1%*30%= 0.3% cost reduction.

Ryan is an idiot. I knew that when I saw his first budget. He gets kudos for actually trying to do a budget, but it was clear to me Ryan misses the big picture.

China has 200 million people ready to come in from the fields to a manufacturing job and are happy to get paid $2 a day for a 12 hour day. You are not going to compete against that. You either tariff the products from such a country to protect your own industries, or you say goodbye to your industries.

We had high tariffs for 180 years. They served us well. Since we have lowered them, we have lost a lot of industries. It's time to restore the tariffs and take our industries back.

WRONG!
1-”killing Obamacare reduces payroll costs by 5%”
Did Obamacare raise payroll taxes by 5%?
- I didn’t mention payroll taxes, this is about direct employer costs for employee benefits, due to insurance company price increases.
2-”tax reform reduces overhead by 10%”
So what percent of total costs are overhead?
- The TAXES ARE the OVERHEAD!
So the corporate tax reductions ARE the savings.
3-is regulatory reform going to reduce the cost of direct raw materials?
YEEEESSSS!!!! Where do you suppose raw materials come from?
Highly REGULATED Mining!
The “overhead” you dismiss are all of the HR diversity, EEO, Legal, etc...
4-Watch you tariff dream take a back seat to reality. They will remain a theoretical threat.

The simple truth is that you could eliminate all regulations and taxes and you still wouldn’t be able to compete with China’s wages.

All you would accomplish is a race to the bottom on wages and turning America into the pollution cesspool and worker nightmare that China is.

I’m not saying you can’t make some progress on regulations and taxes, but if you think you can become Competitive with China on those alone you are living in lala land with Ryan.

The simple point is Chinese wages are a marginal component in the competition to keep job here.

Either the Republican party returns to its historical protectionist roots or it will die. I contend that the Republican Party’s long tern future prospects are worse than the Democrats prospects if the Republican RINOs refuse to change. The Republican Party needs(must) adopt a position supporting nationalist economic policies immediately. This means raising import tariffs post haste and killing NAFTA.

Companies are offshoring to exploit 3rd world labor. While lowering taxes and regulations is good thing only tariffs will level the playing field. You know that but refuse to publicly acknowledge that simple truth.

I can tell already Free Traitors™ are going to kill the Republican Party. And that is a good thing.

In 2020 Trump should form a new America First Party and screw the Republican Party over.

The minuscule cost of Chinese labor literately zeros out that component of the production expense equation when you can import duty free back to the USA and sell your product at first world retail prices. It isn’t hard to figure out what the Free Traitors™ are doing. .
