I would disagree that bringing up a person who participated in plots to kill Hitler is the same as brining up Hitler himself, (or Nazi’s in general) and thus is not an application of Godwin’s law
You’d be in a very tiny minority in that position, as it defies reason to pretend that the name of someone who has zero significance outside of his relationship to Hitler doesn’t constitute a qualifying reference under Godwin’s Law.
