While the press lamented that ISIS could never be overcome, it looks like Mattis is cutting its head off. That's a start. Putting fear in ISIS from day one goes along way in demoralizing their troops.
ISIS is now feeling the Trump effect.

And didn’t I read we flew along side Russian pilots?
Now I don’t trust Putin one bit. My first real taste was working with a Georgian company when Putin invaded. He is a scoundrel of the worst type. And I do legitimately worry what Putin wants to do in Poland along Kalingrad (my theory is he wants Gdansk back. There were some shenanigans around 2010 when no one was looking). He dumps Russian passports and then claims his Russian citizens are being oppressed. It was EXACTLY what he did in South Ossetia. BUT, it’s only to control the oil and gas exports.
But with missions to destroy ISIS we are in a mutually beneficial “the enemy of my enemy is my friend” relationship. As it was with WW2. Putin KNOWS how to deal with these savages without regard to PC doctrine. Trump can smooth over Russian Turko relations to destroy our, the world’s, mutual problem. Radical Islam.
Putin remains a dangerous man but Trump is a man feared and respected. Obama was neither.

I have a good feeling that these missions are now going to be a whole lot more successful with no leaks or advance warning to the targeted vermin before the bombs fall.

Am I correct that he unlimbered a B-52 as part of the effort? If so, Shazaam!!
Did he drop papers 3 days before to let the targets know they would be bombed?
How do his rules on what, where, and how much to strike differ from his predecessor’s?
I wonder what the inauguration looked like from the perspective a US soldier in a forward position in the ME having been told to withdraw or forbidden from doing anything for the last 8 years to suddenly getting permission to unleash hell on the enemy.
The only thing Muslims have respected in the last 1400 years is superior and overwhelming force.
Could Mattis be the King Richard of our time fighting off the radical muslim invaders .
