I agree. They tell us it is only something like 10% who are radical and militant. I am not too sure about that number, but let’s go with it. The remaining 90% of the ‘good’ Muslims need to put more pressure on the remaining 10%. They pay no obvious penalty for not being more proactive. Well, now they are lumped all together, and maybe this will give them incentive to reform, or otherwise get rid of the bad apples. If they choose not to, then, I would question how ‘good’ they are in the first place. Either way, none of them can come here and set down the roots of future terrorism. And I am good with that.
I read somewhere she already said she would not go before this anyway. Plus, seriously, who cares.
I haven't watched the Oscars for years...and not a penny of my money goes in support of the actors and movie-makers of Hollywood.
I think the last movie I saw at the Bijou was "Birth of a Nation (1915).

On another thread I learned that all of Hollywood is going on strike to protest Trump. I guess they still plan to have awards ceremonies, though.

That will give the so-called celebrities lots of fodder to speak against trump at the award show. Will probably make sure he gets an Oscar so he can say a few words via the new internet.

FDR wouldn’t have let Leni Riefenstahl attend either. Unlike the Academy back then, this bunch would have nominated her very well directed works. My advice: try to sneak a surprise substitute Trump hasn’t banned from outside the US to accept in his place. Someone today’s Academy loves. Polanski!
