Just moments ago, I told my husband much the same thing. Donald Trump experienced miracle after miracle after he decided to run for President and those victories did not come from earthly influences because as soon as he announced, he was abused from all sides which included the leftist media, the entire Democratic party and most of the Republican Party elites. Now, many of those same people are trying everything in their attempt to keep him from doing his job. I would say to them that they are treading on dangerous ground because I believe in the power of God to arrange earthly events to bring about his Will in history and I believe Donald Trump is God’s man for this particular time. The Scriptures describe to us certain times when God even hardened the hearts of certain people as He arranged to bring them down. Our job, as supporters of this President is to pray and stand firmly against those who would use their opposition to destroy our duly elected President and our form of government.

Which powers are those? Congress has authority over immigration. Trump can execute his orders because the statute gives him the power to do it, but Congress could change that law if they wanted to.

Separation of powers is the stem of executive orders.
Congress can’t really do anything about them.
Executive orders are specific orders to the president’s staff. A person that can establish that he was harmed without legitimate cause may have standing to appeal to the courts for relief, but that is tenuous at best.

No, that doesn't make any sense. And you are over generalizing. But I didn't ask about executive orders in general.
Yes, executive orders can be orders that execute the President's regular authority over the federal government. Some are the exercise of powers granted to the executive by the law, such as the power to make regulations.
However, I was responding to another freeper asking them to explain a comment that these orders were within the president's clear constitutional authority. That's a narrow question. As I've already pointed out, his authority here comes from the statutes passed by Congress, not from the Constitution.
