Pence will join Rush at the 2 o’clock hour.
Closer and closer to spring.
I think Mitch McConnell should force the Senate Democrats to do a REAL filibuster if they’re going to try to obstruct Justice Gorsuch’s confirmation. Oh, who are the 7 gems who say they’ll vote for him? McCaskill, Manchin, who else?
NUKE the filibuster, get him confirmed and on the job! After what they did to us for 8yrs, use that NUKE Option, every damned time it’s available.
Technically, the "nuclear option" refers to a parliamentary procedure to bypass in-place Senate rules. It is not the outcome itself.
To change a Senate rule such as the 60-vote cloture rule requires 60 votes to go to a floor vote to change the rule. Therefore, even a rule change requires a 60-vote "filibuster-proof" majority.
What Republicans proposed during the George W Bush administration to break Democrats blocking his court nominations was to bypass cloture and use a point of order to declare the vote constitutional question, which then directs it to the Senate Parliamentarian to rule on. Since it's now a point of order, the Senate, by rule, it only needs a majority vote to approve the Parliamentarian's decision. It's this process that is the "nuclear option."
Senator McCain side-tracked this at the last minute with his "Gang of 14" compromise to lift the blocks on Bush's nominations.
Reid used the parliamentarian bypass to lift cloture on nominations short of the Supreme Court. McConnell cannot just declare it now applies to SCOTUS, he'd probably have to play the point of order trick again and get a simple majority floor vote to lift cloture on SCOTUS nominations, too.

You’re right, carriage_hill. I just want to see the Dems embarrassed as the cameras broadcast their childish behavior to the nation.
We're born again, there's new grass on the field.

My heart won’t be broken. I’d say “disappointment” would be a more accurate description. I agree with your assessment of Democrats’ total lack of character—I’d just like to see Americans who aren’t rabid liberals themselves watching the Democrats demonstrate their anti-American behavior, as a means to open their eyes to just how bad the libs really are. Maybe it won’t happen, but I’d enjoy watching the liberal elected Dems parade their despicable behavior in front of a newly attentive audience.
That is starting to change though. Since November 8, 2017, the Dems have had theirs butts handed to them by President Trump.
This caller is so right! He’s describing exactly what the Republicans have done—and suffered—for the last 20 years, and the new lease on life we’ve all been given by the election of President Trump.
In fact, this caller could be a big success as a conservative writer, talk show host, etc. Did anyone catch his name? All I heard was “John.”
The world’s greatest call! “Quit putting your tongue on the canker sore”. This guy was fantastic!
Rush is right—this planted questioner can’t even read script provided by the libs. I wonder if she was being paid, and if they withheld payment because she was such an obvious fake. Of course Nancy Pelosi pretended she was genuine and proceeded with her own scripted response.
Yay—Vice President Pence!
