In any case, the strongest punishment this warrants is standing tall before the man and taking an ass chewing.
This is like the "no political comments in churches" rule. As long as it is a Democrat constituency making political sermons and providing buses to carry parish members to the polls, it is noble and good. But let Rev. Falwell or Dr. Dobson make some comment deemed political from the pulpit and they hammer comes down.
Screw that. They either need to apply the rule evenly or get rid of the rule. I salute the SEALs for drawing attention to the double standard we have allowed to exist for so long.
Probably for the first offense, yes.
Take the investigators and the complainers along on the next SEAL assignment and see if they change their tune.

I sent our 3rd Marines in Helmand AFG various types of skull & crossed bones flags and they flew them on the radio masts during the Battle of Marjah , Very cool .....later on they brought one back to me , signed by every Corpsman in the Company . It’s a treasure
Actually, I do not know damn well. Do you have any examples of the military not enforcing this regulation when the flag or other symbol is Democrat-oriented? I suspect that you do not.
