This is the present STUPID MILITARY, as I had four Montagnard interpreters in my rifle company. They were paid 150-200 percent more then my riflemen with my chief interpreter, Y Blim Nie, making over $400 a month in 1968. My privates made more then Viet LT’s and no, we did not promise anyone US citizenship. Only Y Blim Nie ever made it to the USA after making it to Thailand. He was the only man out of 120 or so in that company to survive that war. What is our Army/military coming to? I damn sure think it was much better in 1966-1969 then 69-75. By 1973 the druggies and black power types were around.
