And why, pray tell, were the “long knives” out to get Mike Flynn from the outset? Flynn wasn’t the first (Robin Townley, a Senior Director on the NSC staff and close to Flynn, was the first) and he won’t be the last. There will be others who become a “distraction” and they will be among the most loyal of his advisors and those who pose a threat to the Washington status quo.
