Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) blasted a report that the Trump administration is considering using the National Guard to round up undocumented immigrants for deportation, a claim that the White House has denied.
"That's despicable," Schumer told reporters during a press conference on Scott Pruitt's nomination to lead the Environmental Protection Agency. "That would be one of the most un-American things that would happen in the last century."
He added: "I just hope it's not true."
The Trump administration issued a strongly worded denial on Friday morning after The Associated Press reported that the administration was planning to mobilize National Guard troops.
"There is no effort at all to round up, to utilize the National Guard to round up illegal immigrants," White House press secretary Sean Spicer said of the report, according to pool reports.
The AP, citing a draft memo, said that the administration could use up to 100,000 troops.
The AP report comes as a string of high-profile immigration raids have sparked backlash from outside groups and Democrats.

It was so fake. Even the local Fox station and Mother Fox were stating that the AP story lie/fake news hadn't been verified.

Of course it wouldn’t be deplorable if it was true, but that’s another matter to discuss.
The federal and state governments have thousands of plans on how to react to possible and theoretical emergencies. In the 1920s and 30s the US Army even had a contingency play for the defense of the US against the Canadians launching an invasion. (don’t laugh, check the “Rainbow Plans” at NARA.)
This is similar plan. And the leftists will take it and raise the alarm that “it is happening now.” The RUMORED plan, as relayed by the “media” and leftist Democrats, also violates Federal law the restricts Federal Military forces from acting in such a role, it is called “The Posse Comitatus Act.”
It is very clear and quite simple:
“Whoever, except in cases and under circumstances expressly authorized by the Constitution or Act of Congress, willfully uses any part of the Army or the Air Force as a posse comitatus or otherwise to execute the laws shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than two years, or both.”

Typically Chuck U. Schumer. He knows the story is false, or should have verified it before he spoke, but instead made news by condemning it as if it were true. The media, in concert with the Democrat agenda, made this NEWS......FAKE NEWS. President Trump has their number and so does the American public.
If Trump proposed line-by-line each and everything on the DNC platform, they'd say it was despicable.
It probably does exist - a contingency plan that paper pushers in the Executive Office write when not taking their 3 hour lunches. They cover every conceivable aspect of domestic and foreign problems and how they must be tackled.
Doesn’t anyone remember when leakers during the Reagan Administration were leaking these contingency plans? It drove Poindexter crazy.
