I’m convinced that the US media was “pro America” during WWII only because we had Stalin as an ally. The US and Uncle Joe teamed up to beat Hitler and the media supported that.
But after 1945, the media stayed on Stalin’s team and decided that the US could take Hitler’s place as the bogeyman. The media has been against We The People ever since.
