Saturday, former Nixon and Ford speechwriter, actor and author Ben Stein said on CNN Newsroom that mainstream media like CNN and The New York Times are looking for a scandal with President Donald Trump and they want to do to him like they did to former President Richard Nixon.
Look, every day you pick up The New York Times, every day theyre slamming, slamming, slamming [Trump]. Im a great fan of CNN; I watch it quite faithfully, every day CNN is slamming him, slamming him, slamming him. Every day, theyre looking for a scandal. Theyre just turning the woods upside down looking for a scandal. Theyre hoping, I think, to do to him what they did to Nixon a long time ago. And, you know, still havent found any real scandals, Stein stated.

“..still havent found any real scandals,”
The real scandal is the #FAKENEWS and #LIES that the Opposition Party is creating in attempt to smear Trump.
Trump and administration has every right to go after the Opposition Party. It is pleasing to see Trump and administration attack the Opposition Party.
The Opposition Party will not stop, they will be relentless. Trump and administration knows this. They said it last week.
Stein needs to wise up about CNN.
Great Post!
Of course, everyone here knows the bias but it’s so stark that it’s really mind-blowing:
Obama changes the Obamacare legislation repeatedly AFTER it was signed into law? No need to talk about it, it’s not interesting.
Obamacare is, legally, a tax? Except when it’s not a tax? No need to talk about it, it’s not interesting.
IRS used as a weapon against political opponents? No need to talk about it, it’s not interesting.
Benghazi? No need to talk about it, it’s not interesting.
The list is endless with Obama and Clinton.
Trump? Trump???? I heard he was rude to a waitress back in the 1980s — we need full media coverage and an Independent Prosecutor! It’s almost certainly an impeachable offense!
And yet the media pretends to be confused when people say the media is biased.
Has anyone done an analytical piece yet that compares the press coverage of President Obama between January 20 and February 20, 2009 to the reporting on President Trump between January 20 and February 20, 2017?
Really want to see that first-month positive/negative mainstream media stories comparison.
The scandal IS THE MEDIA!!!
All weekend it was Russia!Russia!Russia!.........
“everyone here knows the bias but its so stark that its really mind-blowing:”
Yes.
I always wonder how much of the “stark, really mind-blowing bias” is becoming an eye-opener to some of the leftists? It seems like some, maybe a small few, would eventually figure it out.

That has been done. I saw it a number of times, somewhere.
It shows the msm interviews. Really softball, tinkle down the leg, type interactions. Really group hugs between the msm and Obama.
Quite a contrast!
I've no small respect for Ben Stein. He did an interview with Boys Life some years ago (before the Boy Scouts began destroying itself) and he gave the best advice I've ever heard for any young person to heed:
"Come to believe in God early. You are not the center of the universe."
Such sabotage won’t work this time, largely because of the Internet being available to all. Plus the fact that Trump is capable of calling people out on unfair behavior as he sees it.
He is not inhibited as GWB was by artificial contraints of decorum. Something the Dems no longer worry about, and use only in attempts to shut up any opposition. It won’t work as easily today because many people no longer trust the media to be impartial about anything that looks conservative. We just don’t without verifying. Today’s media is in defensive mode, implicitly saying;
“I am not a liar!”
Roger that.
I watch President Trump go about his duties and he seems like the most normal guy in the world. His ideas seem smart and reasonable to me. Of course I see the world a certain way, and others do not — but President Trump is, so far, basically doing what a president does.
And yet — the official news is Trump is Hitler! Trump is Hitler!Trump is Hitler!
As you say, at some point, people (not the rabid, paid Democrat activists, but: normal people) have to start saying, “Waaaaaaaaaiiiit a minute ...”
What they did to Nixon, what they did to GW Bush and what they will continue to do to anyone with an (R) after their name
Here is one such example:
“Video Montage of Media Lovefest with Obama”
http://700wlw.iheart.com/onair/rocky-boiman-56240/video-montage-of-media-lovefest-with-15455057/
And then once they're out of office they'll say they weren't so bad, and they wish the current Republican nominee would be more like them.
“Im a great fan of CNN; I watch it quite faithfully, every day”
That is so disappointing that I may actually throw up.
Ben Stein probably wants to switch parties, but thinks it will decrease his value as an advisor. The Democrat Party I grew up with is ground down into the dust of history. It is virtually powerless, except as an passive enabler to the progressive agenda. John McCain may be the same way. Both get more attention by being the exception to the rule, the so called ‘maverick, if you will.
The problem the media and left have is that trump actually has a nice and well polished brass pair. It was on full display when they had what should have been a fatal scandal regarding grabbing women in an inapropriate place.
They ran with it and ran with it, but as one woman said, “I’m choosing a president, not a husband.”
It got nowhere. With trump, only a REAL scandal will work. e.g. he gets caught taking taking a bribe from Putin himself in a dark alley.
Media not doing their job report news not make it up fire them and bring in new blood.
They are now just a good old boy club with ne agenda useless.
