He lost. The democrats put up a loser to make their case.

Perfect choice.

I heard part of his response. He was describing a Democratic Party that wanted top a man on the moon. He must have missed the transition to wanting to put a man in the woman’s room. The Democrating Party he remembers is gone with the wind.

Not sure how the original post got all garbled up...

If you had said a decade ago that the official response to a standing GOP president would be delivered by a mostly retired Democrat...people would have laughed. Yet here we are. It’s a sign that the Party is in disarray and unable to focus on the future.

For the mid-term coming up....unless they really reshape their message, this will be a huge mess for the Democrats to recover from. I could see ten Senate seats shifting to the GOP.

What you say is indeed true. But it doesn’t matter. They just want their slop covered by the MSM and are targeting the low info voters and they DO get influenced by what they hear in the MSM. Truth be damned.

Who also looked like the Heaven’s Gate cult leader Marshall Applewhite. Kind of symbolic since Steve Beshear also belongs to a cult group called the Democrat Party.

Twitter is a hoot. Someone said the Democrat response managed to make Trump the young and cool one of the night. LOL

The only thing Schumer could say was that Trump’s cabinet did not agree with Trump’s speech.

After watching this “Democrat reply,” I now know the true meaning of the word, “pathetic.”

The plum job of doing the official response is always fought over by the opposition party's "Rising Stars".

The problem is the Dems have no Rising Stars this year; just Sinking Black Holes.

The speed at which the democratic party is collapsing at is amazing.

SOTU Response Speeches in the four Februarys that a party's not in the WH, are supposed to accomplish two things:
  1. Make the opposition party look cool & calm & thoughtful and ready to take over the WH in the next Prez election.
  2. Showcase the most articulate / charismatic / photogenic Presidential Hopefuls who will likely be running for that job.
But this year, it was an impossible task for the Dems to reconcile both of these objectives.

Ever since 11/9, it's political suicide for a Dem wannabe-leader to not pretend they're totally in sync with the Base. No "rising star" gunning for the 2020 Prez Nom could meet objective #1 without deep-sixing their future prospects.

I believe Dem leaders are starting to get frightened of their unhinged psychotic Base.

Hence the only Dems who could meet objective #1 this year are retired ones who have no political career to put at risk by delivering a speech on national TV that sounds "reasonable".

<sarc>Before Dem hopefuls do "Red Meat" CSPAN speeches intended for their Base, they're back in the Senate or House Cloak Rooms comparing notes on the best speech aid/prop that will produce actual foam coming out of the mouth at the right moments of their speeches. </sarc>

Okay, that was just racist. How dare you talk about the Black Congressional Caucus that way.
