Recent news has indicated that Oprah Winfrey might be considering running for President in 2020. In a conversation with David Rubenstein, she smiled when asked if she would “break the glass ceiling” by getting elected for President. The show was actually taped back in December, but aired this morning, which explains the press it has received. Following Oprah’s remarks, people have speculated as to whether or not prior government experience is needed to campaign for office, given the victory of President Donald Trump. The political world is not a foreign arena to Oprah: In 2008, she campaigned for Barack Obama; eight years later, she supported Hillary Clinton, although with significantly less vigor.

I have despised Winfrey ever since the TV Guide cover shot years ago where her head was superimposed on Ann Margret’s body. The woman is all about fraud. How could she ever be trusted as a president?

Oprah should not be underestimated if she runs, just as Trump shouldn’t have been. She was and is enormously popular with white women, who formed the base of her talk show audience. She would get a big percentage of the white women who voted for Trump last year. She could quite conceivably be elected based solely on that swing.
Wealthy, black, female, personable, and presentable.
Oprah would be hard to beat.
Oprah is too self absorbed in her “world” to be serious about truly helping the USofA.

Oprah is one of the popular persons in the country. She could create best sellers by simply featuring them in her book club.
