**WARNING**

Don’t believe the Lying Leftist Media. They are presumed to be lying and we should assume that what they publish is a lie. The presumption can only be rebutted with the outlet providing clear and convincing evidence they are not lying.

Can we limit posting this b/s?

This is total horseshiite. We’ve had a normal wet winter here in Yuma AZ and the lettuce crop was higher yield than normal. Last summer had fewer days above 110 than the last few. Just more scare tactics thrown at us that have no basis in fact.

The price of lettuce doesn’t vary. Therefore there is no climate change!

yadda, yadda, yadda...

Peaches were grown in in Ohio up to Lake Erie too until climate...about 200 years ago! So I suppose if it warms up enough Ohio can re-start peaches in a big way.

Wait, I didn’t read the article. Was that climate changing for warmer or colder? WAs it changing everywhere or just for lettuce growers.

I mean if we dont get peaches we may get glaciers.

Climate change has been with us since the last ice age and long before that. The climate changes and that’s a fact. Humans deal with it.

Best thing we can do is pray for good weather, cut the government, cut the regulations, cut the taxes, secure the borders and deport the illegal aliens. Let the price of lettuce fluctuate per the natural law of supply and demand per the free market.

What Climate Change has to do with the price of your liberty:

Everything you need to know about the climate change agenda was stated quite clearly by the UN's top climate official in 2015:

"This is probably the most difficult task we have ever given ourselves, which is to intentionally transform the economic development model, for the first time in human history.

"This is the first time in the history of mankind that we are setting ourselves the task of intentionally, within a defined period of time to change the economic development model that has been reigning for at least 150 years, since the industrial revolution. That will not happen overnight and it will not happen at a single conference on climate change, be it COP 15, 21, 40 - you choose the number. It just does not occur like that. It is a process, because of the depth of the transformation."
--Christiane Fugueres, Executive Secretary of UNFCCC (United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change)

Overpeck is a political hack. He likes to be called Peck. I'd call him peckerhead. While his CV looks outwardly impressive, here's the "tell":

"... served as a coordinating lead author for the Nobel Prize-winning UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Fourth Assessment (2007); he was also a lead author of the IPCC Working Group 2 Chapter on Terrestrial and Freshwater Systems (2014)."

There has never been a more scientifically dishonest outfit than the IPCC. It's a purely political, globalist, socialist construct and worthy of nothing but contempt.

“There’s this old adage in climate science that you can’t attribute any one event to human causes,” Overpeck said. “That’s not really true anymore, because now it’s really been established that humans alter the whole global climate system. Anything related to increased warmth in the atmosphere likely has some element of human causation.”

Really? Show the evidence!

Most of the "evidence" of climate change in scientific journals consists of an observation followed by a stock statement "because of climate change" with no explanation of how "climate change" led to the phenomenon described in the observation. On top of that, the "because of climate change" is usually followed by actual explanations of what could be behind the phenomenon. For example, mosquitoes that carry certain diseases are spreading throughout the southern US. The stock explanation is that it is because of "climate change"--but the actual explanation is that once a species has been introduced into a non-native environment in sufficient numbers to maintain a population, it spreads. It will spread especially fast if there are no predators to suppress its numbers in the new environment (nutria and kudzu are examples of this). It isn't climate change, it is the normal behavior of invasive species.

So far, there has been no actual evidence that carbon dioxide has more than a minimal effect (if any) on temperature. Furthermore, in order for carbon dioxide to cause global warming, it would have to have the property that it increases the overall energy that the earth receives from the sun. And that is physically impossible. Carbon dioxide cannot change the quantity of energy that the earth receives from the sun.

Peaches are grown today north of Lake Erie in Ontario. I don’t know why they can’t be grown in Ohio.

Assumptions that involve taking a certain trend and using a straight line to extend it into the future have no business in finance or climate science. Both are ways to ensure you end up wrong.

“Jonathan Overpeck, the director of the university’s Institute of the Environment, says we can blame ourselves, in part, for the great salad shortage.”

Sorry, which university is that? I’m not bothering with opening the link.
