NSA whistleblower shows how candidate Trump could have been wiretapped
American Thinker ^ | March 6, 2017 | Rick Moran

A former top intelligence official turned whistleblower at the National Security Agency says that surveillance programs by the NSA could have been keeping tabs on the Trump campaign and that their intelligence could have been shared with other agencies. William Binney, a legend at NSA, laid out the case for warrantless wiretapping of Trump Tower and how other intel agencies like the CIA could have had access to the wiretaps.

And thus Clapper could tell Chuck Todd with a straight face that he was unaware of any such warrant. Because there wasn’t one.

For the sake of the country, Congress needs to get to the bottom of the matter.

Yes. Indeed.

Without doubt one of the top articles written on Tower gate. Must read. We know that Obama acted lawlessly and this is easy with NSA surveillance of everything.

Aaah! My eyes!
♦ On Thursday November 17th, 2016, NSA Director Mike Rogers traveled to New York and met with President-Elect Donald Trump.

♦ On Friday November 18th The Washington Post reported on a recommendation in “October” that Mike Rogers be removed from his NSA position:

The heads of the Pentagon and the nation’s intelligence community have recommended to President Obama that the director of the National Security Agency, Adm. Michael S. Rogers, be removed.

The recommendation, delivered to the White House last month, was made by Defense Secretary Ashton B. Carter and Director of National Intelligence James R. Clapper Jr., according to several U.S. officials familiar with the matter.

[…] In a move apparently unprecedented for a military officer, Rogers, without notifying superiors, traveled to New York to meet with Trump on Thursday at Trump Tower. That caused consternation at senior levels of the administration, according to the officials, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss internal personnel matters. (link)

Remember, historically The Washington Post is the preferred outlet for the CIA and Intelligence Community within Deep State to dump their “leaks” and stories. The State Department “leaks” to CNN for the same purposes.

Trump needs to bring up some big guns, if he has any, in his defense. Indeed he may not have any because in both the primary and the election he fought the establishment everywhere. All he had with him were the disgruntled voters and they can’t be mustered until an election time. Right now he has to be, in the words of old President Johnson, he has to be like a jackass in a hailstorm, he has to stand there and take it. I hope he can weather the storm that wants to ruin his Presidency and our hopes.

Astronomer Carl Sagan popularized the adage, "Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence." Sagan was talking about alien visitation of Earth and the fact that to date, solid "evidence" has been lacking. The same should hold true in politics. Accusing the former president of the United States of conducting a secret wiretapping program against an opposition presidential candidate is just about as extraordinary as it gets. So far, those who claim that the charges are true – including the president – are lacking solid evidence that the bugging occurred. What is offered as "proof" is more opinion and supposition than substantiation of facts.

But Binney's roadmap, along with what we know of surveillance during the Obama years, points to extremely troubling questions that Democrats cannot dismiss as "conspiracy-mongering." In this case, there were a will and a way. For the sake of the country, Congress needs to get to the bottom of the matter.

Going to be difficult to get true-blue Obamanites to sing in cross-examination. Their expression to the questioners will likely resemble Joseph Goebbels'

The best strategy will likely be to go after the low-hanging fruit of lesser participants, get them under oath, and hope they'll testify before they get killed

I think he told F Chuck that he was unaware of a warrant for a wiretap. Nice and lawyerly, since there are many other ways of getting Intel besides via a wiretap.

When Todd asked him whether he could confirm or deny if a FISA (Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court Act) order for this existed, Clapper declared, “I can deny it.”

Great point. And “wiretap” is an archaic term regardless. NSA has back-door access to all our communications; no “tapping” is required.

The shift this morning from the DNC is that we can no longer trust the House and Senate oversight and we must appoint a ‘special prosecutor’ to get to the bottom of this. This smells of desperation. In the first place, Congress is not charged with Criminal Investigations and can only refer criminality to Justice. A Special Prosecutor can not be appointed until Criminal Charges are filed, usually by an indictment through Justice. They know this. Coons changed his tone in two days from I personally know of Russian involvment with the Trump Administration, to I have no knowledge, but there could be. Trump should have the assistant AG confirmed immediately, and if not, should recess appoint. This must be investigated thoroughly for the good of the country.

Another totally unbiased push poll that was released just as the DNC talking heads were quoting it an hour ago..

Congress needs to get Binney up there to testify and explain the road map to them and the American people as to how Obama could have spied on Trump even without a warrant, and so that Congress is not too narrowly focused in their investigation only on the warrant spying possibility.
