A growing number of students, it seems, will use their student loans to fund their upcoming fun-in-the-sun spring breaks.

Roughly 30 percent of US students will tap into their growing pile of college debt to pay for their weeklong frolic, a survey from LendEDU revealed.

/src on/Why not since half of college kids believe the gov't will forgive their debts./src off/ The 30% in the article should not be in college in the first place. For them it is just 4 years of partying.

That is why they were supporting Bernie. He promised to pay off their debts and they get the parties as freebies.

Wait a minute...

Are you saying that YOUNG PEOPLE make STUPID, IRRESPONSIBLE decisions? Particularly with money?

Stop the press, breaking news!

Stupid.

I’ve got one full time in college. Last year, he asked to borrow our van for a spring break trip.

If he was going to Florida, my response would be NO, and if you do go, expect the locks to be changed, your car (that I own) repossessed and all financial help to dry up.

He and four friends who are studying astronautical engineering went for a multi-state tour of space museums. Perfect, take the van.

This year, he’s leading a group of eight for a 5 day camping trip. Have fun, here’s the van.

Most of these kids already have their security clearances and none are willing to threaten that.

I knew students 25 years ago doing this. It is not a new phenomenon.

I had friends that furnished lavish apartments with new PC’s, stereo equipment, TV’s and new wardrobes seemingly every semester or year.

Even at the time I thought to borrow beyond the gap of what my family would contribute, what I could afford with work and room/board and tuition was just plain stupid.

As such I think I pretty much had half the clothes I did in high school upon graduation and I think, one 20” cable ready TV that was my major 4 year splurge. It wasn’t even stereo.

Democrats see this as a good investment. Hedonism, drug use, unwanted pregnancy, alcohol dependence leads to the formation of good Democrats. Your tax dollars at work. Notice how the Democrats always propose the “forgiveness” of the “loans”. What is actually used on “education” solidifies their political base at so called institutions of higher learning.

Don’t forget this when the next fool tries to tell us that we, the American Taxpayer, should forgive the 1.4 Trillion in student loans.

I worked and paid for my two Sons to get a college education. I demand that those who took these loans pay every cent back. I will not pay for their education or their party trips!

I knew a girl in 1979 who used her student loan to buy a new car. She said it was legitimate because she needed a car at school.

“Student loans” are nothing more than gov’t backed loans made to people that are students. Where the money goes and how it is spent has nothing to do with education expenses, it is all up to the so called “student” that receives th loan.

Most folks believe the money is only used for education expenses, ...LOL!

You had a TV, wow, you were rich.

I graduated with $7.49 to my name. 33 years later, I think I have $10.75.

I actually had a great deal for college housing. After one term in the dorms (Hated) a friend introduced me to an old lady at church who rented out several rooms with kitchen privileges. I think rent was $20 a week. Best part, her house was only two houses off campus.

When I went to college back in the 70’s you never got to touch your student loan money. You were loaned the exact amount of your tuition, dorm or other colleges fees and the check went directly to the college bursar’s office. For your personal living expenses you worked a job. Or two.

My major was communication arts and marketing.

I justified it.

This is but one reason why DJT needs to end all FedGov backed student loan subsidies.

Not one taxpayer dime for college expenses.

Not only will taxpayers save billions of dollars; the likelihood of some idiot universities closing may be greater.

Mine is full time and I have his F150 to drive because he took my Infiniti to go hang out at my alma mater. He’s an assistant track coach at his old HS. They were state champs this year.

Now studying??? Maybe

Mizzou went to the Orange Bowl when I was a sophomore. The thought of actually driving from Missouri to Florida for the game was as alien to me as flying to the moon. College was a pretty frugal existence then. I don’t think I knew anybody who went to the game, either.

The perfect reason why there should be NO student loans, especially by FedGov. If you want college badly enough, get some jobs to pay for it. “Free” money breeds complete irresponsibility. For proof, just look at the swamp President Trump is hopefully going to start draining. Hopefully.

Sounds like my kids. The 23yr old got his security clearance when he worked at NASA in college. The 19yr old just got his right before his birthday to work at GE gas turbine while he works on his digital manufacturing degree.
