WASHINGTON, March 23— Attorney General Janet Reno today demanded the prompt resignation of all United States Attorneys, leading the Federal prosecutor in the District of Columbia to suggest that the order could be tied to his long-running investigation of Representative Dan Rostenkowski, a crucial ally of President Clinton.
Jay B. Stephens, the United States Attorney for the District of Columbia, who is a Bush Administration holdover, said he had advised the Justice Department that he was within 30 days of making a "critical decision" in the Rostenkowski case when Ms. Reno directed him and other United States Attorneys to submit their resignations, effective in a matter of days.
While prosecutors are routinely replaced after a change in Administration, Ms. Reno's order accelerated what had been expected to be a leisurely changeover. . .

Thanks!
Janet Reno said that Donald Trump would never be president while she was alive.
She died the day before Trump got elected president.
Not THAT is poetic justice.
Can't help but be reminded of the story of Will Purvis. He was convicted of killing a farmer in Mississippi in 1894 and sentenced to hang. Purvis insisted in court that he was not a murderer, that if he was truly innocent then God would save him, and he vowed that he would live to see the last juror die.
On the day of execution, he dropped through the trapdoor and for reasons still unexplainable to this day, the noose became completely unknotted at the last possible moment.
The crowd of witnesses demanded that Purvis be spared because he had been judged innocent by God. He was taken back to jail. Shortly afterward some friends broke him out. Purvis remained a fugitive until a new governor promised to pardon him on grounds that a miracle had occurred. Purvis went on to have a successful life. In 1917 a dying man confessed to having been the murderer and Purvis was at last exonerated.
And incidentally, Will Purvis passed away in 1938... four days after the death of the last surviving juror.

I suppose Jeff Sessions was one of those since his times as a US Attorney ended in 1993

He was a white capper?
Doing a search for that story, I saw a wikipedia summary that said Will Purvis was a member of the White Caps. I almost didn’t click on it because I figured the White Caps were a long-forgotten doo-wop group and this was a different Will Purvis! :)
Or Divine intervention!
Great example of how the Repubicans (courtesy Mark Levin) can learn how to govern from the Democrats. Sessions needs to GO. All he knows how to do is quake in his boots and recuse himself. Shame on Trump for thinking this dolt had any cojones. Shame on Trump for ditching Flynn. Shame on Trump for not telling the judiciary to go to hell, that immigration is squarely within the purview of the Executive branch per the Constitution, and these judges are wayyyy out of line. What a trifecta.
Agreed, you don’t spend half your life in the US Senate and not become neutered.
Good.
Drain the swamp. Fire them all.
They can flip burgers at McDonalds.
I would add, Janet Reno died - that's justice, poetic or not.
Yeh guess who isn’t on the List? Yeh the Oregon prosecutor in the Malheur refuge case.
FDR said Israel would never be given to the Jews, which it was shortly after his death.
Great story!
