Lake Tahoe expected to fill up with largest physical rise in recorded history(AGW?)

Lake Tahoe's natural rim is at 6,223 feet above sea level. The lake can store an additional 6.1 feet in its reservoir and climbs up to 6,229 feet at full capacity, its legal maximum limit. The only outlet, a dam at Tahoe City, regulates the upper 6.1 feet above the low water mark, and this winter water is being released into the Truckee River as billions of gallons flow into the lake.

Tahoe's water level reached 6,226.84 feet on Wednesday, and the lake needs some 88 billion gallons of water to jump up the 2.26 feet required to be completely full. That's the equivalent of filling more than 133,000 Olympic-size swimming pools.

Pyramid Lake thanks the snow gods. And, looks like next week may bring some more precip to the mountains. But, I do have a question. If 6,229 feet is the "legal" limit, does someone issue the lake a citation or something? Or the water master for not maintaining it below the "legal" limit? I know Mount Rose ski area has gotten a total of 680 cumulative inches of snow this year and may add to the record breaking total before all is said and done. Currently looking at closing Memorial day. WHAT?! Sadly for me, my back can't take advantage of those spring days any more.

I have always marveled at how government and ‘science’ can put limits and conditions on nature. It is truly astounding, actually.

It is especially confounding when these acolytes are queried about “what is the correct temperature, level, amount, etc. that makes you content?” never will answer the question.

The Federal water master is charged with not allowing Tahoe rise above the legal limit. Probably gets fired if it interferes with the billionares lake front property. Lake Winnemucca is about to return to it’s high mark from 100 years ago. It has been a dry lake bed for decades(for the most part).

BTW he is the only Federal water master in the entire country.

We were Toild and Guaranteed by a Conses of the World’s leading Climate Scientists that SNOW would NEVER Fall in the US again, especially California.

So how exactly did this happen??

Can we at least get a Consensus on the Cause of this Un-Natural event??

Pyramid Lake is supposed to rise 8 to 12 feet by the end of summer. Water normally taken out by the Truckee Canal for Fallon will be going to Pyramid. The Carson is nearing flood stage for the third time this year and the weather has been nice. This is good. More water for the trout.

I actually did read it. I still maintain that government always finds a way to push things out more toward climate change as the answer than not. It was a very general statement. I understand your point, however.

Just toss these at the gwa’s:

1. Define the “correct” temperature range for the planet.

2. Define the “correct” humidity range for the planet.

3. Define the “correct” mean sea level for the planet.

4. Define the “correct” amount of precipitation for the planet.

5. Define the “correct” makeup of the atmosphere.

6. Define the “correct” amount of sea ice at the N/S poles.

7. Define/explain past glaciation and subsequent warming without any input from humans.

Watch heads ‘splodin’.

Haven’t seen the projections for Lahontan or Walker yet.

This is the Water Masters only control I believe.

It’s the “out” from Lake Tahoe into the Truckee river.

There is a practical upper limit to the lake level...:^)

Lahontan started releasing water into the sink on Monday. Walker will receive a lot of water but it is so low I think it has no chance of flooding.

The Carson River water shed is projected to have enough water to refill Lahontan twice!

Along with the other reservoirs in the Truckee system. That is done in conjunction with TMWA and NvEnergy. Took decades to reach the TROA, it was litigious and controversial.

"Anthropogenic Global Wetting."

Matt Damon has partnered with Stella Artois to end the "global water crisis". California is unconscionably and unfairly getting too much of the worlds water and should be fined by the EPA!
