Government seeks designs for 'physically imposing' border wall
CNN ^ | March 18, 2017 | By Gregory Wallace

Washington (CNN)It should be tall, climb-resistant, difficult to penetrate and blend into the landscape. Those are among the requirements for the US-Mexico border wall released by the federal government late Friday, kicking off a bidding process that will lead to one of the largest government construction projects in US history.

"The wall design shall be physically imposing in height," Customs and Border Protection outlined in the notice for contractors. That means 30 feet tall, although the officials wrote that "designs with heights of at least 18 feet may be acceptable."

The wall must also be impossible to climb without a ladder, and should make it difficult to use "common and more sophisticated climbing aids," like grappling hooks.

In addition, the wall must resist attempts to penetrate through or under it. The request specifically mentions it must successfully endure for at least 30 minutes -- but ideally more than four hours -- attempts to bore through it with a "sledgehammer, car jack, pick axe, chisel, battery operated impact tools, battery operated cutting tools, Oxy/acetylene torch or other similar hand-held tools. . ."

Wonder what plans they have for all the tunnels that currently exist which connect Mexico and the U.S.

Even I could penetrate that in 5 minutes, or less. 8>)

Nice wall, but I don't think it meets even one of the requirements. Which are:

In addition, the wall must resist attempts to penetrate through or under it. The request specifically mentions it must successfully endure for at least 30 minutes -- but ideally more than four hours -- attempts to bore through it with a "sledgehammer, car jack, pick axe, chisel, battery operated impact tools, battery operated cutting tools, Oxy/acetylene torch or other similar hand-held tools. . ."

I love this. The President wasted no time calling for bids. A decision is supposed to be made in May. It won’t be a no bid contract to some politician’s spouse or brother in law.

And we’re getting our Wall! If there is one thing President Trump knows how to do, it’s build things well. On time and under budget.

Chain link fence.
20 feet high.
4 fences.
2 outer fences have razor wire on top tilting South.
Southern outer fence extends 3 feet underground.
Inner fences are electrified.
Every inch of the entire border wall is video monitored with motion sensing alert.

Establish the United States Army Border Command. Roughly 1700 miles of southern border to defend.

Establish 50 Bases to house 2 Companies of soldiers each. Each base is roughly 35 miles apart.

No part of the US border is more than 17 miles, or roughly 30 minutes, from a border base.

Base personnel constantly monitor by video, and by patrol, every foot of the US border.

Every foot inspected daily for any damage and suspicious entry attempts.

I love it as well. There is no doubt going to be challenges, and those are what scare me. I have little doubt about Trump having success, if he can get by the courts. Right now that does not look too favorable, as there seem to be no shortage of judges willing to sacrifice America and the freedoms she offers. Far too many are eager to extends those freedoms to anyone and everyone, unless you are an American citizen that is.

Those towers should each contain manned 20mm Vulcan Gatling guns. Then it should take much longer to penetrate

Concertina wire would be good too. Maybe have it covering the sides. It would end up looking like fly paper.
