Rinkeby is a suburban housing estate near Stockholm, where the Swedish welfare state keeps a large number of unassimilated migrants. 90% of the population is non-Swedish and many of these are Somalians given to crime and rioting.
*snip*
The police station will feature bullet proof windows, walls reinforced with sheet metal, and fencing around it, possibly with electrified barbed wire. So it will look more like a military installation than anything.

Just wow. Disclaimer: This is from Zero Hedge, which has a tendency to exaggerate things for dramatic effect.
Wouldn’t it be cheaper to just get rid of the Muslims?
And they will be patrolling in up armored HumVees. But they have no problems with immigrants.
And yet they still scoff when anyone says that Middle Eastern immigration has caused crime to skyrocket and turned formerly tame areas into “no go zones.” Actions speak louder than words.
So, it’s basically a super-max high security prison but designed to keep people out not in.
Built by Muslims no doubt.
Anyone ever see “Children of Men” movie?
That is probably what the future of Europe is going to look like.
Who’s going to protect the construction workers while it’s being erected.
Rinkeby started out as just a forested area until the mid-60s. Economic boom....lot of people in Stockholm looking for affordable housing...city latched onto some idea to build this 40-odd building planned-suburb out of thin air. It’d be next to an express-way and feature a subway station.
By the time, it was built...economic boom had wrapped up and no urgent need for affordable housing existed. Decade would pass, and then new economic boom fell into play. Lot of migrant workers moved in. Most of the Swedes were moving out by the late 1990s. It was forming up as a ghetto twenty years ago.
At some point twenty years ago, they had some kind of police sub-station there in the neighborhood, and that got closed down. No one talks over that, or the logic of closure.
Presently, around 18,000 live in the area. Drug trade, junior drug-gangs, etc....goes on. This new fortress-police station is supposed to be a sign by the city that they are taking it serious.
So import criminals first, watch crime skyrocket and then spend more money on fortifications just to keep the cops safe.
Yeah, sounds like a good plan...not.

Excellent question. Perhaps they will call up the Swedish army. But then who would protect the Swedish army?
Interesting. Thanks for the info. And since you seem to have some insight here, a question for you. Care to guess how this will all play out in Sweden, long-term?
They just don’t get it....
Next national election in Sweden is 9 Sep 2018. Social Democrat Party won the last election with around 32-percent of the vote....presently at 25.7-percent. The Moderate Party (center-right) sits at 17 to 18 percent. The Sweden Democrats (Euro skeptics, more like the GOP, anti-immigrant slant) sits at 19-percent. At least six other parties but they aren’t getting much on numbers.
The current government survives with a coalition of the Social Democrats and Green Party. What is generally pointed out is that are a wide variety of issues which the two partners cannot come to some agreement upon. One of the big issues is immigration. The Social Democrats want to push on tougher lines for entry and force some people to exit. Greens aren’t buying into it. Very little is being accomplished and it’s dragging this government through a big mess in front of the public...only helping the Sweden Democrats (anti-immigration slant) gain points with the public. Greens losing position (roughly at 4-percent nationally now).
I would predict either the Social Democrat pulling out a close victory, or the Swedish Democrats picking up a couple of points over the next year, and winning. Either a center-right win or a far-right win. In either case...they’d be able to do a coalition and proceed ahead.
None of this means anything if you look at Malmo or Rigeby-suburb issues. Cop profession is having a hard time in recruitment. Prosecutors and judges are losing respect with the public. You can’t dismantle the ghetto environments that have been created over decades. Toss in gangs now established and deep into drug sales...it’s not a situation that you can fix.
As much as people want to ID this as a Muslim problem...they’ve created a multi-group atmosphere with dozens of minorities. School systems can’t handle the language issue, and kids are being prepared for burger-flipper careers with no hope for the future.
This police fortress in Rigeby has yet to even start construction, and I would anticipate nightly attempts to damage work done...probably will take millions more to fix damages, and won’t be opened for six to eight years. It’ll be front-page news every month in Stockholm as they try to explain how punks got in and damaged the construction work.
Don’t want to sound critical...but they’ve created so many problems that just changing parties has very little hope for long-term change.
Final note...if any journalist ever goes out to walk the weekend shift around Rigeby...the tactics used by the cops (mass group required, and at least two guys to guard their vehicles on the street)...it looks a lot like US Army tactics out of Iraq. They sweep in for the call...grab the problem-guy...then quickly leave. I was reading a piece about a year ago by some Swed cop who described how these worked. It’s war-zone policing...try to explain that to the general public.
I'm confident that it will come to that.
Astute observation. Good movie.
Nice reporting there (post #15). Very informative. Thanks again.
