You can’t just repeal it full stop. I would love it if we could but you can’t do it noe. A lot of people who now have pre existing conditions that would have been covered under their individual policy lost those policies due to Obamacare. What about them?

One of the things that killed private insurance was illegals. They went to the ER for regular care. That cost to the hospitals was spread over insurance premiums to compensate. Whatever was billed was just accepted. The policies got more expensive and then deductibles increased. We thought that was bad until Obama are came along and the insurance companies could do what they wanted. Does anyone really think those companies will lower prices? Eventually they will in a dozen or so years, but not soon enough to help anyone.

REBUTTAL TO #1: No suggestion he was referring to conservatives.
REBUTTAL TO #2: #3
REBUTTAL TO #4: All on condition of anonymity. Translation: utter, complete and total bu||$h!+.
REBUTTAL TO #5: Oh, wait, you have nothing there.
REBUTTAL TO #6: off topic.

So in other words: nothing but mere assertions to back up mere assertions.

Also: funny you mentioned one aspect of the Daily Beast (the hit list), but not the other aspects:

1. Trump himself regrets pushing Ryanocare.
2. Bannon is anti-establishment.
3. The Freedom Caucus is utterly unconcerned.

CONCLUSION: Trump was referring MORE to moderates than to conservatives. Also (obviously), NeverTrumpers.

Also: “Bannon, for his part, is hardly pleased with the bill as it stands. According to Trump administration officials, Bannon himself hates the current AHCA—“he thinks it’s a piece of shit…and he told me as such,” one source described bluntly. “But, I mean, he’s not going against [the president].”

Again, I believe these unnamed sources are worthless, but if you’re going to believe them on X, but not Y, you’re not only gullible, but inconsistent.

Lamest rebuttals I ever saw.

But lets assume your believe these rebuttals to be true.

How? How can you defend and support a president who is in bed with Ryan? The biggest GOP-e stooge in Congress? A never trumper stooge who made clear he was and still is out to defeat Trump before, during and after his inauguration?

I point out that Trump is likely to align himself with the democrats and all you can so is “yeah... so?”

Ryan did, and I think he needs to be unseated. But I hate it when people I have faith in betray me. They should have gone to the WH with their own bill, they should have said we want this and when they were given this said oh yeah and we also want that. They should have been straight up and said no matter what you do we won’t vote for it.

What part of dishonorable isn’t understood? What part of negotiating in bad faith is ok? Don’t tell me that didn’t happen, we watched the groups going back and forth for days. Why didn’t they say from the get go that if even one of them didn’t agree they would all be a no? Are they some kind of girls club?

I’ve never liked Ryan, I really wish the President had never bought into him having the votes. I expected to be disgusted by Ryan, what blindsided me was being disgusted by the FC. Standing up for what you believe is great, you can deal with that, being snakes is not something I can support.

Yes you can repeal it FULL STOP

People forget that 11 years ago, there was no such thing as Obamacare and our nation’s health care industry and coverage was in much better shape.

What about them? Just like everyone else, they go to the market. Where there is demand, there will be product to meet that demand.

Yes, competition will force the lowest price into the market. Right now there is no national competition / market. If you want to have a solution that allows people to purchase insurance that partially or fully covers pre-existing conditions, then that can be built into the national market place. This would be done by having the insurance companies provide a price for ALL coverage options, including pre-existing un-capped, pre-existing capped and no pre-existing policies.

Another way would be to encourage businesses to cover ALL employees by providing that any monies spent on employee health care is tax deductible and if all employees are covered or at least offered coverage at group rates, then the business can take an additional 1 or 2 percent deduction. That is a tax code fix, not an Obamacare or even “government care” fix.

Healthcare already is deductible for employers. Pre existing conditions are even covered for group insurance if the person is eligible when a new policy takes effect or renewed.

Look it can be done but not without congress getting together with the insurance companies and coming up with some kind of soft landing program. BUT you would need a tough negotiator and frankly there is no one in congress who could be trusted. This industry has been deteriorating longer than since Obamacare went into effect. That was just the deathblow to the American healthcare industry. It’s like tearing all the wires out of something and then walking away and thinking it’s going to work like it did before.

Hey, I already have posted on other threads about how the fanatically anti-Cruz people ought to feel pretty damned stupid, now. But nonetheless, your arguments are pure garbage.

But you can’t even begin the correction process on a faulty foundation. Obamacare has to be repealed and swept away BEFORE you can build it the way it is supposed to be built.

Here’s the problem I have with them, at least how they acted:

It’s not a problem with ideology, it’s a problem with TACTICS.

Ryancare in its current form needed to die; that much we knew. But the HFC’s opposition to it turned into self-destruction.

They had a chance to negotiate in good faith, to remove the terrible parts, to turn it into a repeal bill, to get more good things into it, to at LEAST show that they were willing to cooperate. An unacceptable bill could have been killed in committee, or when it was sent back to the House if they wanted.

But they barely even gave a token show of trying to negotiate. Now they’ve painted themselves as impossible to work with and will be ignored in the future.

And that’s not a victory; that’s defeat.

If you are climbing a tree it’s smart to have a good hold on the next branch before you let go of the one you have. I agree it has to be destroyed, but you need that new foundation built before you demolish the existing one

“Repeal and Replace”, not ‘Repeal’ then ‘replace’.

Not Repeal. I’ve heard Trump say it over 100 times in front of crowds as big as 20,000 or more. I’ve heard it in formal speeches before Conservative organizations. I’ve heard it during television interviews, on the Sunday morning Talk Shows.

When I voted for Trump, I voted for “Repeal and Replace”. Not ‘repeal’ then ‘replace’.

Anybody that voted for Trump voted for “Repeal and Replace”. Not ‘repeal’ then ‘replace’ or didn’t care.

So if you voted for Trump you voted to “Repeal and Replace”.

So if ya’ll want to gripe, go look in the mirror and tell yourself you should have let the Democrats win the Presidency and the Senate.

Are you saying the bill Trump endorsed repealed Obama care? Facts are stubborn things. Trump endorsed a Ryan Rino bill that did not repeal Obama care. You can still be for the bill and truly believe that phase 3 would be honored, but Trump did not follow through on the repeal pledge. Maybe he just meant replace because that’s what they tried to pull.

Sorry, I stop debating when somebody tells me what I meant then proceeds to debate that straw man.

Obamacare doesn’t need to be repealed, it can be overwritten and deprecated and superseded. One session of Congress cannot encumber another session. They cannot write a law that prohibits another session of Congress from writing a particular new law.

Just write the replacement law and make Obamacare disappear.

I hope you are young and live 8 years in a US that’s Progressive-House, Progressive-Senate, Progressive-President and 9 progressive-judges serving on Scotus. Then you’ll understand how high the stakes are that President Trump serves a successful term.

If you are old, then shame on you for not picking up any wisdom in all those years.
